Kasper gone.
Paynter staying.
I know Billy offer hours of amusement, what with the bridge of his nose starting on the back of his head, but come on?
Erm...

batty, I think you're spot on, good players want to be at clubs where they think they can win things.
When they see better players leaving for rivals they will question whether they should be leaving as well, I'm expecting more departures of our better players.

Jonty, it's the same in any walk of life. Not just footy.
Everyone wants to be at a place of work that wants them to be there, provides them the best opportunity to succeed. I'm thinking Kasper was seen as the type of
player who everyone else pegged as the bloke who would get to the Prem with or without Leeds. He has
star quality. They all knew someone would come for him.
Now he's gone, the rest of them will start to panic. They might even jump at the next bid for them. And if a dingbat like me is thinking that, you can bet the clubs interested in them will smell blood, and jump in.

Thing is, you could see when it was only a 2 year contract that Kasper would leave in summer if we hadn't won promotion.
Bates/Grayson MUST have known this.
Yet now we're in a situation where we're probably going to bring in a lesser replacement (contrary to Graysons' claims to ony bring in players that improve teh squad although I guess any keeper is an improvement on none!) and any club we approach will now know our situation and up the price.
And yet Bates is an astute businessman we hear....

Jonty, I think that's why we're going to see a
free agent keeper come in. That way Ken isn't
held to ransom over his own bungling.
And the Jason Brown rumor has an ominous
feel to it.

batty, well 7 mill needed for first stage of hotel plans, I've always said money will be used for that first and players later.
Be prepared for a long mediocre stay at best in Championship at this rate.

build a brick wall within the goal that should do the trick, & won't cost papa a fortune...

Jonty, do you think that papa might not realise that if got us to the premier league then he might be able to build 10 hotels.....i think that makes sound business sense..

hotel is the priority harj, always has been, not TA, not keeping Delph, not any of the players, not promotion to Prem, just the hotel, if we get up onteh cheap, that's a bonus for ken.
