Really hope Pearson makes this happen would be a great first signing.

I don't see the point unless Beckford is leaving. We'd just be collecting similar strikers.
I think Nugent is just as good as Sharp anyway.
However, Sharp is a good player and this does question whether Beckford is leaving. I'd certainly take £2.5m for Beckford and spend £3m on Sharp.
Still, talk of strikers us pointless until we find a way of creating chances. 1 or 2 midfielders capable of creating chances a must.

I agree but only if we get players in to compliment him, i.e wide players with a quality final ball because unfortunately the reason we didn't win on boxing day was because our ball into the box when it really matters is really really poor

I see it as the first piece in the jigsaw

If Nigel is going to stick with 4-4-2 I would like to see a mobile target man coming in for the likes of Sharp and Nugent to play off.

"I would like to see a mobile target man"

Agree with this. With only two in the middle we are desperate for someone who can fight for the ball and keep it up front rather than strikers who rely on service. Howard just isn't mobile enough to be that man.

I agree that a more pressing concern is to find someone to replace Steve Howard...
...Unless he's a direct replacement for Beckford...

To be honest we could have Ricky Lambert upfront for us and he probably wouldn't score. An out and out goal scorer is going to struggle when the final ball from the midfield is so poor. What was obvious against Portsmouth was an inability to create good chances from open play. I'd love to see pacey wingers or a real quality central midfielder. Or Andy King on form.
