Robbie Keane

Do any of you remember when all the Spurs fans couldn't control their excitement about the prospect of Keane coming back. At least Henry is actually a good player, hypocrites.

When Keane came back to Spurs he change our season(2 points from 8 games).
Lets see if Henry can make an impact on your poor season.

I would say Keane undid his reputation a little bit too. He was never the same in his second spell, and by the time he was sold we were glad to have got him off our books.

It would be a shame if Henry's second spell was unsuccessful. Better for him to leave Arsenal on a high than on a low.

wouldn't bother me if he was unsuccessful tbh, and same for most other fans i've spoken to. he's only here for 2 months and won't be here for the business end. Media is making out he's coming as our savious, but fans know he's just as back up for players going to ACON.

Well there's no harm in it, it's just very unambitious, yet again from Wenger.

Podolski will be our saviour

So wait ambition = money spent? I mean I'd argue if Henry is brought in as cover, that frees up funds to spent elsewhere for a bit - for example on a wingback or a creative player. If we needed to sign a striker to cover ACON absences, then we'd sign someone, get all our strikers back, be paying wages for nothing to an additional striker who isn't on loan, and is no longer needed and just pouring money down the drain. How very ambitious.

There is no guarantee yet you'll be getting other players. You know what Wenger is like. And it's for that reason that it comes across as unambitious. In the hands of another, more successful manager it would look like a better idea. Under a manager as stubborn as Wenger who still won't have addressed the issues, then it doesn't look as great.

Get a deal done with a striker who isn't past it, and is currently top quality and then I'll tell you it's not unambitious.

90% of Arsenal fans are delighted Henry is signing, so we won't be too worried if a Spurs fan thinks it's unambitious.

'Another more successful manager' So that's..Ferguson then? Can't think of any others who've achieved more in the PL. Not sure what issues aren't addressed tbh. Depth is fine. Shouldn't really have more than four wingbacks at a club surely? I mean that's the problem, once you get down that far, just how much depth should one have.

Also top quality strikers in the PL are a rare breed, and an expensive gamble in January, hence the Torres/Carroll debacle. Top quality like 'missing a quarter of a season due to petulance' Suarez? or 'here for my paycheck' Robinho? Also worth bearing in mind, we have a top quality striker, it's backup we're after - our formation isn't for two strikers. And there aren't many top quality strikers willing to sit on a bench.
