Two Points

After my article from Thursday , Liverpool have reduced the gap between themselves and the top four to two points.

Thursday's Article: http://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewArticle/69977

Thursday's article pointed to the fact that we were only three points away from top four, yet we had all these negative comments about our season. So far this season we have had one of the best defensive records in the league, and we have been creating chances at will. It was the same again yesterday, but we finally started to score.

Bellamy deserved MOTM in my opinion, but you can't hide Gerrard's impact. I pointed to the potential difference that Gerrard could make to our season, and prediction became fact. He looked for the ball and demanded it at times, and everyone grew in confidence, typical Gerrard. The most promising thing from Gerrard was his fitness, but also his link-up play with Carroll. Carroll had been quiet all game, but Gerrard made him come alive. Gerrard looked up for the big man everytime, and it led to Carroll missing out on a one on one, and hitting the crossbar!

Gerrard could be the difference to Carroll and our season, and it must have been a breath of fresh air for Andy. The likes of Maxi, Suarez, Bellamy...rarely find Carroll in games, but Gerrard can switch to that direct ball. Carroll gave Newcastle problems, and it was great to watch Gerrard do what we should have been doing before. Gerrard looked up, and made those early crossfield balls!

2 points is the difference between us and top four, but Gerrard is back. Make some smart signings in January, and wait for Suarez to return, we could fight for more then top four.

We have come so far since the start of 2011, and I can see us improving even more in 2012.

I hope there is one or two top signings, but we'll have to wait and see!

Get an out and out goalscorer and THEN i can see Liverpool attacking the top 2.
