In what way are we better than last season then?

We create more chances and we have Mata and Danny.

To think this time last year we could have easilt have lost Danny or worse as part of the Torres deal

I have to say I don´t think we create more chances, I think we create less and now we can´t defend.

For me we are worse, than last season,I see no sign of improvement whatsoever.

Sturridge and Mata are far better than the rubbish we got from Anelka and Malouda last year while the midfield IMO is also better.

have to agree with biggish. we've not improved from last year. our midfield dont seem to create chances and nor do they seem able to keep possession or defend. defence looks in disarray as it has all season. forwards are spluttering

Against Newcastle we created numerous chances, likewise at Old Trafford and against Arsenal. We outplayed QPR and created numerous chances with 2 less men, against Bolton the 5-1 win for us flattered the host's aswell.

Our problem this year is our forwards (bar Danny) aren't clinical enough.

Yes their are still some bad games where we create little (Levekusen, Wigan and Genk away) but last season that was a problem every week.

even man utd with their anonymous midfield manage to create chances galore. we've got midfielders who are actually midfielders but cant produce anything for our forwards

Sturridge.........

We created very little agst Fulham,Wigan and Villa.

We took all our few chances agst City and Valencia but we did not create much, bur fair enough they are good teams.

We are now just as predictable as we were last season but we can´t keep a clean sheet.

Isnt it sad we stil need Roman to bail us out to help secure a top 4 finish?

What I would like to know is when is all the money we are ploughing into the academy at Cobham actually going to produce some home grown talent.
Every youngster that comes through and shows the slightest bit of promise and talent or close to being part of the first team squad is shipped out on loan to a Championship side only to come back with that experience and then be sold because no manager has got the guts or spine to play them instead of some of the old guard that are past their sell by date.

It makes me so angry and there lies part of the reason why we are falling behind other teams.
