In amongst the farcical nonsense being spewed by the FA, there has been some encouraging news for LFC, namely the fantastic results that we've had over the last couple of days.
Coinciding with a convincing win against Newcastle was the return of fan favourite Stevie G, who really impressed when the King introduced him.
We often look at a player's worth based on their on-pitch performance (and rightly so for the most part), but every now and again you get that special player who brings an unique aura to the club, someone whose very presence inspires those around them.
"Stevie came on and made a massive difference in the last 30 minutes", Glen Johnson said.
“Some of the stuff he does you just can't teach. We have definitely missed him and we're just glad to have him back."
“It's a big lift for everyone having our captain back out there."
I know some have already written him off as "past it", "no longer a force" or something equally shortsighted, but his return is very welcome in my eyes and just what we need now that we're entering such a crucial phase of our season.
A rested Stevie G will be an invaluable addition in our quest to qualify for the CL and win some silverware.

A lot of our fans were saying we were ok, we didn't miss Gerrard. Fools. ATM Gerrard has no injury problems, is looking lean, mean and keen. Needs to stay away from bad tackles and stay fit. A shining light - let's just enjoy the leadership he brings to the team.
