Wow I can't believe I actually celebrated the Sunderland goal.
I know our title aspirations are a little bit on the crazy side but even though we dropped two points at the weekend, we actually made up 1 point on the top two.
Which ever way you look at it we are in a great position. We definitely need to win our next game to keep the dream alive, however we are five points clear of our initial target of fourth with a game in hand.
If we were offered this at the start of the season, we would have bitten their hands off.
Silver lining?

Cant see us beating City though, with Ade out and all.

Edin :
Spurs are down for a loss in phase 2.
However, tis important that they front up and play like they did the past 2 seasons (even in 2011 we passed them off the pitch regardless of Crouchies ) .
If only to keep the self-belief and momentum going.

probably, the only way I could see us beating them is if we do what Sunderland.

We are going to lose some of the phase 2 matches.
But that is accounted for by finishing phase 1 on target.
All we ask is that in those defeats, the boys gave the winners an absolute game over 90 mins.

The Arry RDBD view is that we can break the season down to 3 phases. The overall target for the superior Spurs is 76 pts, which effectively means 2 pts per game.
The Arry RDBD index (currently +3) tells us how we are on the schedule. Phase 2 starts with the <Citeh> and ends with the Chelsky game. Phase 2 is the real nasty part.
So the targets are :
Phase 1 : 21 games - 47 pts
Phase 2 : 9 games - 13 pts
Phase 3 : 8 games - 16 pts
If Spurs can keep to those (reasonable - not optimistic or deluded) targets, PL top 4 is done.

We were very poor yesterday.

JoeLewis - but unlike past years, we didn't fold up and lose. I've seen us outplayed at Fulham and West Brom and ended up winners, and we made hard work of the Wigan and Blackburn trips, but still ended up with the points. There are far more positives than negatives at the moment.

Countering that though, Spurs outplayed Stoke and got nothing, and let in goals in the last 5 minutes of both games at Newcastle and Swansea, costing them 4 points. Also against Chelsea had 3 or 4 excellent chances last 15 minutes to take all 3 points.
So whilst it has been an excellent season so far, in reality could have been really blinding.
Still I will take happily what we actually have.
