Striker or Defender?

no way le fonde my mate at work is a rotherham suporter and he said he is too inconsistent and his work rate is poor

Got to be a centre back. As well as Shackell played last season defense was still rubbish (away from home mainly). Weve needed a 20 goal a season striker since we got promoted but managed without so far so defense is key to staying up.

Tom,Dicko or Harry ?

I know Shotton was a Robins loan, but i think he did well for us i think we could buy him. He did really well and if he got a season under his belt hed be top at the end.

I agree Tommy - a Shotton would be great. We need the spine of the team. From what I've heard from a Chesterfield fan, the young lad Davies is a great freebie (the Spirites have had good Davies before!) , Perkins sounds like a good acquisition too on our budget. We do therefore need a centre half who can run things there. Is McShane the one? Though I have to admit a full season of Harewood alongside Davies could prove the experience we need. Talking of spine though, is Steele staying? Lots of rumours about a move...

Well today it would appear we have signed a right back and a left winger, so neither really.

With Shackell gone we will definately need a CB, although I would like to see Kern Miller having a go in the first team.

If you paid say,Harewood 8k pw on a free,could get a premiership defender on loan to replace Shackell on 8?10k pw that would be Shackell £1m gone but,KH would still have his original transfer kitty left.If that makes sense?????

legend, not contradicting you but not sure if thats how it would work with the money. I'm not saying I do know how it works but if you are right that would mean leaving that million in the bank to pay the respective players wages. How would that be managed.?

Point im trying to make is instead of spending the shackell money on 1 player n then paying the players wages on top we could get 2 quality frees & use the million just for wages
eg,pay hull 750k for mcshane then pay mcshane 12k pw or get say Harewood/Koumas(only an example) on frees pay em 8/10k pw both work out similar money wise.Which would be best value for money?
