Why shouldn't Thudd get back in the side, we need someone who can take bloody corners .

I also fear that Hudds might not break back into the first XI with the quality we have there now.

JPB,
I'm assuming 'King arry' meant when all are fit. If so, he probably has a point.

I wouldn't be too sure about that, Chicken. 'Arry seems quite taken by a three-man midfield just now. I can see THudd and Modric with one of Sandro or Parker as a frequent starting trio.
In any case, at The Lane, "when all are fit" is like "in an ideal world", or "when hell freezes over".

comfortablynumb,
You may be right, but i'm of the opinion that in Harry's eyes, if Parker is fit, he plays. When all are fit, i cant see any other midfield line-up other than:
Bale..........Modric..........Parker..........Lennon

Numb, if all are fit, and you want to play three in the middle including thudd, who are you dropping out of Lennon, Bale, VDV and Ade?
A two man midfield including Huddlestone seems like a bit of a throw back to me and Hudd would really have to hit top form again to make that our best CM pairing. In his appearances at the end of last season and before his opp at the start of sept, his passing was off and he looked a bit sluggish. If he loses the ball, you're putting pressure on the rest of the team and Modders to get it back, as Thudd, in spite of his size, has rarely been a good/willing tackler.
We all desperately want Thudd to succeed, he has a bit of a cult following among our fans, but he is a bit of a luxury and we already have VDV as one.

I'm not advocating anything, just pointing out what 'Arry has been saying lately - "Injuries are a problem," Redknapp added. "Parker, Sandro, and Modric looked great as a three in midfield, but then I suddenly lost my two powerhouse players and it doesn't quite look the same. It's something we have to look at really. "
And before that, early in the season, he was looking forward to playing Sandro AND Parker in midfield, saying that we'd be really tough to play through with those two in there.
Fact is, we haven't had everyone fit at all this season, so we don't know what 'Arry really wants as his first eleven. And since we probably won't have everyone fit at any stage this season, it probably won't matter anyway.

interesting dicussion guys, but my immediate concern was the situation we have now with both sandro and parker out. ive never been the biggest huddlestone fan, but right now i would welcome his return with open arms.
