though the state of indian cricket doesn't bother me too much, but their kind of lame attitude, some needless interference does. And I am sure I am not the only one bothered. But relax boys the point of my article isn't to criticize indian cricket or BCCI.
Well what they do is apparently within their right and we cannot really accuse them for anything no matter how stupid some of their opinions sound to us, again I dont mean to offend. Now the fact that offends us more is how ICC acts as a puppet to BCCI. Have to really admit the capability of theirs for having ICC under control. The reason we all know remains their financial muscle. What lets them become financially that strong is their huge population and immense interest in the game.
The england tour this summer left few hearts broken amongst indian fans, but they managed to convince themselves it was one bad tour and the future is secure, now we have seen whats happening to this team in current tour to australia. In recent englands tour to india while Sachin was not playing, now being the crowd puller he is, we saw that really reduced the fans attendance in the stadium, and he will retire pretty soon. Now wouldnt that ultimately lead to disappointment and less interest in indian fans, and hence less following, thus sponsors cutting in their investments and BCCI no longer remains the money making machine it is, which might ultimately result in them losing their command over cricket internationaly. One thing I am very sure about is, in their current run of (unofficially) reigning world cricket, they havent made any friends, most of the boards do have complains or are atleast displeased with them. Now incase my analysis does come true, how do you think would BCCI adapt to this situation and do you think BCCI would be having some alarms ringing in their heads.
Just incase you are about to call this article as a WUM attempt, please do not comment on here.
might no more.

Indians are not mad about cricket solely because of Tendulkar and conclusion on Indians losing interest in cricket cannot be based on thin attendance in the recent India-England odi games.Attendance was low because Indians have been playing too much cricket.Prior to India-England series, they had hosted World Cup, India ha

India had hosted World Cup, IPL and Champions League which concluded days before the start of Ind-Eng series and both teams had already played gruelling series in the same.
My prediction regarding the future of Indian team is that they will revert to Pre-Ganguly days i.e Tiger at home and mice abroad.Though BCCI will retain its influence since influence is not based on national team's performance, its based on India's revenue generating capability in cricket which will not go down in the forseeable future.

This is no secret that BCCI influences decision making of ICC to an extent greater in proportion that other cricket boards do.
I do not see any negativity in someone raising a question that will BCCI be able to retain its influence after national team's catastrophic performance in England and Australia so far.Because low interest in the nation can follow their team's decline.

Amla, thats write Tendulkar is not the only man who makes their people mad about cricket, but there is no one else whom they get to the extent of calling god. So to me, his retirement will affect the enthusiasm we currently see there.
Besides IPL has already been accused of being the reason for Indian decline in test cricket. Most of the true cricket fans do not seem very pleased with this tournament anymore. Thus I dont think this product would either remain as the cash cow for BCCI.
And last but not the least, the poor performance by their team would lead to less following naturally.
However I do agree with you on them being from mice to tigers at home, which does remain a consolation for BCCI at the moment. And Indians normally play this much cricket and we generally see capacity crowds in their home matches. And just before engand series, west indies visited there and we saw some good crowd in those matches.

(incase my memory serves me right)
To me their revenue generating capability definitely depends on the quality of cricket their team comes up with, and the stars they have in their team.
My analysis could well be wrong as well, lets see how it goes.
