Nicky Maynard £3.25m Bid

Nicky Maynard £3.25m Bid

Improved bid for Maynard, £3.25mil hard to see how #bcfc can reject this with one-year left. Great progress being made by Sven and co #lcfc

whats your views, will you accept? or reject? its allot to reject with just 1 year left

KTF it wasn't just about your and my clubs I was talking about it was football in general I was interested in what them in the smoke though about other teams I mentioned Bristol and Leicester because of the statements from some of your fans on here that they are such a big club they wouldn't have any trouble getting whoever they wanted. I have been interested in the results of my chats most Londoners seem to be in some form of time warp regarding football when they talk about big clubs - Outside of the obvious The Arsenals Man U's Man c's Spurs etc they think Notts Forrest - Derby County - Newcastle - Ipswich are the big clubs in the championship even though Newcastle spent last year in the premiership and Derby struggled more than we did.
Just another point if Snodgras is worth £7-8 M according to Leeds Utd then I think Maynard has got to be worth more than £4 M. Chelsea and Liverpool have really distorted the transfer market £ 50M for Torres and £ 25M for Andy Carrol way over priced both of them.

u mean £35m for carrol hawk

Have to be honest Hawk, I very rarely go on to other teams boards, so I am unsure what most Leicester fans have said. But from this and another thread, and all of the comments on the Leicester board, I can honestly say I have not seen a single fan suggest Leicester could get any player they want. I think we are resigned that this isn't the case as we have tried to get Given, Wright-Phillips, Westwood, Beckham, Santa Cruz, etc all without any joy whatsoever (so as you can see, a bid for Maynard seems alot more realistic to us!!)

I also lived in London for the last year or so, and can say I have never heard a Premiership fan specifically mention Ipswich or Derby, but London is a big area. The most common response I receive as a Leicester fan is '...would be good to see you back in the Premiership' or comments about how well we did with O'Neil. To be honest like most Championship team supporters, I dont really give two hoots what Prem fans think of us.

I think 'some' Leicester fans have just responsed in irritation to 'some' Bristol City fans suggesting a move to LCFC would be a sideways or backwards move. From what I have read, apart from the odd idiot who wums and provides no support to his statements, most Robins fans would feel the same if it was any Championship club coming in with an offer which is fair enough.

I think this subject has now been exhausted, so I will say farewell and good luck for the season, at worst I think you'll finish in the top half.

Nobody said it was a backwards move!

But it definitely is a sideways move, and thats how we see it whether you like it or not!

I do not see Leicester city as a big club and I suspect nor would the vast majority of most clubs fans.

You dont like that, tough!

KTF I also wish your club good fortune obviously not against us and with Nicky scoring for us. You are quite correct that apart from possably West Ham almost all of us would regard a move to another Championship side at best a sideways move though to a couple of sides it would be considered a backwards move. However we all now have to wait and see what happens NM is back from his hols and now is when we find out what the future holds
ps good luck trying to get KS at times he looked awesome but can also appear rather ordinary(not too say I wouldn't have loved him to have been signed at Ashton Gate.
pps You weren't after Snodgras at Leeds as well were you 7-8 million fantasy money.

DD you are right I thought I had put 35 mil but I hadn't. Just think they could have bought NM for 10 mil and had loads of cash in the bank for someone else (especially when you think NM out scored AC season before last when both were in the championship.)

It doesn't matter what you think. Nicky might not be as thick as you.

There is no way on Earth it is a sideways or downwards move to go from Bristol to Leicester. No way at all.

It's a northwards move but not an upwardly move

posted on 22/6/11

Sorry EH but it is a sideways move if you are in the running for promotion come Jan and we are struggling then it might look like an upwards move however if both teams are up in the top half dozen what would be the benefit of selling him to you when it might scupper any chance we have of getting into the playoffs/promotion. As things stand all championship clubs are equal having all got 0 points and are all in the same league, so far you have not shown you are better than any other side in this league conversely neither are you any worse - thus far any moves by players between Championship clubs is just sideways movement, wait until,if ever, you are top of the table before saying you are better than other teams in the same league - that sort of thinking tends to come back and bite you in the rear end.

You're an idiot if you think you're a big club mate.

Go and ask that question around the boards, see what people think? average championship side nothing else.

I am amazed at the extent of your delusion!
