Evening Trackies and Trackettes
Sorry we have not updated in the last few days. We have been severely busy with negative altitude training. Playing at 200m below sea level to try and better prepare our players for wet conditions, and improve breathing techniques.
Pre-season is going well so far. Early start to the season this season as we qualified for Europe through the Effort league, despite finishing 11th for the 15th consecutive season in the NGA (National Grit League).
First Qualifying round:
TBR 0-0 Rough County
Rough County 0-0 TBR (TBR win 1-0 on penalties)
Second Qualifying round:
Bruisier Munchenntrackback 0-0 TBR
TBR 1-0 Bruiser Munchentrackback
Third Qualifying Round fixture:
FC Bigbut Athletic v TBR
TBR v FC Bigbut Athletic (AET)
So we are in the 3rd qualifying round thanks to some extremely gritty performii. FC Bigbut Athletic are on a whole nother level though. Our scout tells us they are well built but at the same time are quick. We will continue our negative altitude training.
Opening NGA Fixtures announced for July 34th onwards:
Height City v TBR
TBR v Passionboro
Breakleg Mountain Town v TBR
TBR v Tracking Back Town (Derby day)
TBR v FC Defence (defending champions)
Further fixtures to be announced.
Transfer News
TBR have upped their bid for free agent abdouleye Meite to £87m.
TBR have looked into a possible loan deal for George Elokobi
TBR manager Barry Smith signs new contract
TBR have had a £200 bid for John Terry turned down. TBR will not be increasing the offer
TBR are set to announce a club record signing within the next few days, after the dotted line on the paper work has been mashed with a firm palm, so watch this space.
Please give your thoughts on the current situation, suggestions for signings and the season ahead.
‘Track back here! Track back there! Track back pretty much everywhere, with a trick track tracky back give a man a whack….Track back pretty much everywhere!’

Barry Smith is 100% committed to TBR and the trackballing philosophy that I brought in. The youth team don't even get to see a football till under 18 level. They work on the more important things up to then. So the ball is not a distraction at pro level. Keep your eye on the man and got god's sake don't stay on your feet!

"Formation for the qualifiers will be 10 for both legs."
Glad to hear it. That should be our formation for all domestic games. And all non-domestic games. Get an early goal, then everybody tracks back and plays in the hole behind the keeper for 89 minutes.
Come on ye trackeeeers...

Indeed. We practice American Bulldogs, team Relay (not individual Relay), standing leapfrog, rugby line outs, and getting shot at by cannon balls in the stomach. These are the 8 basics to my philosophy, until you have mastered these, you will not get to see a ball at the trackademy.

i think we should refuse to play iun shorts and shirts, we should play in track suits, have a running track around our pitch.
It would befit our style of tracking back

Do you not remember? We wear all grey for our home games, inspired by Man Utd's unseeable grey strip, so the opposition are caught out by our trackbacks. We wear luminous yellow for away games so we stifle and blind our opponents with our trackbacks. Those are the only 2 tactics we change home and away.

Mr Smith, my latest copy of SiberianFootballMonthly has a full report on how to train sliding tackles on dirt, loose gravel and ice/frosted pitches. It was a real eye-opener. In youth training I think it's got the potential to tell who'l make it at the top level. Apparently one slide tackle on the latter surface ended up in Vladivostok harbour.
