Andre Villas-Boas - Next Scolari?

No premier league experience
No champions league experience
Younger than a lot of Chelsea players
Abramovic bully kid

Would he be another Scolari? Would he be at Chelsea this time next years? YES! to former and NO! to the latter.
You heard it here first!

Thoughts!.

I wanted him as manager but no-one ever listens to me at Anfield.

Thank god..

I'm very disappointed in AVB. I think he's failed his first real test in football management. To go to a club where he has full control. It send out a bad message to me that he is more money orientated that football.

Very ironic that as the new FIFA fair play rules kick in Chelsea spend 15m on a manager and lump a 60m transfer budget on him after spending 70m in the last transfer window. Fair Play? My Ar**

My first impressions on AVB are that he's a Mourinho mark 2. Quite happy to give up working with his boyhood club to go go where the money and instant attention is.

All in all a quite depressing time for football IMO

I think everyones jumping to conclusions here. I don't think he'll be the next Scolari. AVB won 4 trophies last season with Porto and won the league unbeaten with a record points gap of 21. Sure the premier league is much more competitive, but you can't say he'll be the next Scolari or the next Ancelotti until you've seen him and his own Chelsea team in action.

I wonder where this would leave fernando torres though, would he be in AVB's plans? There's talks of them bringing 2 other strikers in Falcao and possibly Neymar..interesting

I think your kidding yourself if you think that AVB, will be anything but a revelation in the premier league. He made his name as an opposition squad at Chesea under Jose (shhh!) Mouhrinio and they werent to bad!

I would ave loved him at Liverpool and think he could be the man that wins them the Champions league!

I don't envy him. There's no doubt that he will become a very, very good coach. He has worked wonders in Portugal but England is a totally different kettle of fish.

Having to deal with Roman's expectations will be his first hurdle. The man doesn't understand that you need to build a successful team. You can't go chopping and changing every season just because you don't win the Champions League.

It'll be interesting to see how the 'old guard' at Chelsea accept him. He doesn't differ much in age with the likes of Terry, Lampard, Drogba, Anelka et al. It's like having a boss at work who's younger than you - not everyone likes it.

I wanted him to replace Roy.

At least the scuum didn't get him to replace whiskey nose.

Odds are he'll get sacked for not winning the CL and go to Milan, Inter, Barca or Madrid.

i doubt he would have paid £13 million to get his man if he didnt 'believe' he could do what he wants him to do.
