over the hill players like Scholes, Keane and Henry coming back to play in the premiership, it can only be good for Spurs in the coming years with their exciting emerging young squad.
Surely if that is the best that teams like United and Arsenal can come up with, then if not this year, then certainly next year and in the coming years, Spurs will become one of the major players in the chase for the trophies with players like Bale, Kaboul, Lennon, Modric and Walker, all an ideal age to really push on.
Daniel Levy and Harry have a lot to be praised for, in the way they have reshaped Spurs in the past couple of years.

wearethefamousthfc.... Ground Hog Day ..... Its 1961 all over again .. Double winners May 2012
i started going in late 70s, 50000 crowds and got to games no worries with transport, then again i was in the corner pin till 10pm after most games
Ah the corner pin, very nostalgic, there used to be small terraced houses on the corner of Park Lane end of the ground, in the 50s opposite the Corner Pin, where supporters used to put their pushbikes. Not quite sure when they were pulled down, I think possibly early/mid 60s.

If a new stadium isnt a matter of urgency then it should be, if Levy could start building tomorrow I think he would.
There are so many things holding the project up as well as the obvious funding issues, its been dragging on for too long but we will see it built (eventually).
Levy has said failure is not an option, and in Darth I trust.

"we own most of the site so no land to buy just a few houses left i think"
Walked down Northumberland Park the other day.
Everything behind the immediate row of houses appears to have been flattened between there and the High/Paxton Rd and Worcester Av bounds.
What is left to own ?? That terrace of houses on Park Lane ??

We desperately need the new stadium. Long-term it's the ONLY way to maintain the level we're at other than get owned by a sheik.
The only thing holding up any recent progress is Levy negotiating with the mayor (aka squeezing him till the pips squeak).
The economy is a huge bonus as far as I see it. The work will be much cheaper to get done, and the mayor and government must see it as a massive priority for not only local regeneration but jobs and economic stimulus.
I expect definite plans by the end of the year at the very latest.

Mentioning Kaboul and challenging for trophies in the same thread takes any credibility away from it
