Somebody said I only post when we are winning so I thought it would nice to shut them up. I've got something that has been bugging me for a while anyway.
I keep hearing alot of lazy criticism of MGP. Maybe this is due to his demeanor which might appear lacklustre, but nobody can deny that his work rate is incredible. More importantly take a look at how many of our goals he is involved in (Note: I do not mean direct assists).
I have looked at our last 4 games...
Newcastle 2-1 Rovers. PEDERSEN supplies the cross for Goodwillie's goal.
Rovers 1-2 Stoke. PEDERSEN supplies the cross for Goodwillie's goal.
Man Utd 2-3 Rovers. PEDERSEN supplies the corner that eventuall leads to Hanley's goal.
Liverpool 1-1 Rovers. PEDERSEN supplies the corner for Adam's own goal.
In our last 4 games, MGP has been involved in 4 of our 6 goals scored. At this time of night I am not prepared the go further back than that. Besides, IMO the teams we have played in our last 4 games have been against a very good standard of premier league teams.
I hope this goes some way to shutting up the anti-Pedersen mob. Ok, he doesn't score as many stunning free-kicks and volleys anymore. But remember he is the wrong side of 30 now and IMO is adapting his game as he loses pace and power.
Having a season ticket in the Riverside, I am in earshot of some of the vile abuse that comes his way. It's awful at times and I think the point about his contribution to our goals is a point that needs to be made.
Pedersen haters.

SKA:
Only his give-away for one of United's goals at OT comes to mind. I think overall he and Nzonzi have been two of our better players this season in centre midfield.

Even Pedersen can't
---------------
Well...clearly he can. Otherwise how would 4 of our last 6 goals have resulted from his deliveries?

N'zonzi is one of the problems this season he needs to start winning tackles and second balls

He keeps the ball very well though IMO. He rarely needs to make rash tackles because his ball retention is very good.

Well that's half of his job but what about his defencive job like winning the ball or stopping runs and winning second balls he does none of them

The only reason Pedersen is on the pitch seems to be to take all our set pieces, I'm sure someone else could take them just as effectively whilst offering more in terms of all round contribution.

I never thought the day would come - Wow and I ahve found something to agree on. Pedersen is one of our senior players and, like the other senior players around him, seems to have problems playing at his best for Kean, seemingly recognising his poor tactical ability.
However his continual involvement in most of our set piece activity and also general midfield play, especially in the early part of the season was very good. Recently he has suffered (playing left back FFS) as a result of Kean's inability to muster and marshal a defence and he is left too much to do. He isn't a defensive midfield - he's a poor man's Xavi Alonso.

I've long been a Pedersen fan and personally think his set-piece contribution is far better than anyone else in the squad could manage. And considering we're struggling to score from open play at the moment, I can understand his selection for that reason. However his last few performances have dissappointed me, timid on the ball and half-hearted off it. He looks like what he is, a guy desperately short on confidence who clearly has little/no faith in the management.
Pedersen is one of those players who needs to be handled with kid gloves, Hughes brought out the best in him then (according to Savage's book) Bellamy's constant criticism knocked him off his game. He was having a resurgence under Allardyce but has again slipped with baldy in charge. As wow says though, he's been loyal and committed to Rovers in the face of years of dispicable abuse from some idiot fans, and I think he deserves respect for that.

Yawn! It's always about you!
Onto the relevant bit of your post, I've always been a fan of Peds. Hard working on the pitch, a gent off it and some fabulous cooking tips on his website.
If you want to criticise he was also partly to blame for Odimwinge's goal against West Brom, letting a left footed cf cut in rather than show him the line (or boot him up in the air). That's by the by though, Kean's fault for playing him left back!
