Marshall is still in negotiations with Stoke over his new contract there. Until that is sorted then it's out of our hands.

I think you might see the process speeded up a little after this weekend & if he does sign it then it's pretty much a given that Stoke's preferred option is to loan back to us for the remainder of the season.

If he stalls on it however then they may look to sell & that could well bring other teams into the equation! Our only hope would then would be that he wants to come back here rather than say, Leicester, who the papers have been linking him with over the weekend!

i wasnt asking to take the peace just wondered. i guess if they dont think he will sign then its not worth himbleaving for free in summer so theyll try get what they can for him. maybe he doesnt want to sign for stoke cos he wants first team football. u might get to buy him on a permanent this month yet!

Yeah, I think we'd be in for the permanent signing if that's how it goes but it'll bring other clubs into it & Stoke will be looking for the best deal for them, rather than what they think's best for him which could easily go against us!

yeah not an ideal situation. if some one like town go in for him itll cause problems cos obviously weve got far more funds available for transfer fee and wages especially knowing weve around 10 million to come in summer for jordan rhodes!
