After just a three day break from the cup 3rd round we have another important cup game. Its always nice to do well in cup competitions and its even better doing well in two cup competitions. A trip to Wembley which would be brilliant for the club and a nice bit of money would enter the club.
Tonight will be tricky. No doubt that our players will be on a high still, but if their not careful that could turn to disapointment very quickly. Barnet are a lot better than when we beat them 4-0, they added to their defence and Mcleod has picked up some form.
I doubt Paolo won't want to win this so we can probably expect quite a strong team with a few changes, wouldn't surprise me if Magera and Benson start up top, Gabilondo replacing De Vita and maybe Devera replacing McCormack. Going for a 1-0 win so we can build in the second leg which will be on tele. Shame this leg isn't on the tele couldn't make it tonight because of work. COYR!

Just a quick one as I'm setting off shortly, agree about it being a tricky night. My money is on a score draw 2-2 but hope I'm wrong of course.

Agreed, this isn't going to be easy. They had Saturday off and won their last home game (albeit against the Gas!). They're an improved side and McLeod will always be a threat. I also think there will be a couple of changes, if Risser wasn't suspended he'd probably be getting a game so I'm glad that can't happen.
I'll be very happy with a score draw (not sure what happens if it's all square after both legs, any ideas?).

No away goals in JPT, it'll go to extra time then penalties if still all square.

Thanks for that...ok, any draw then.

Anfield is there really streams on? thought they were only streams of games on the tele.

Bit frustrating at Barnet last night, I am more disappointed with our display than the result. To be fair to Barnet they closed us down and worked really hard to stop us getting any momentum going especially in the first half. Unlike us we played a lot of long balls last night but maybe that's what Paolo asked but to me it was much less effective than what we have been used to this season. No real stand out players in our team although nobody had a shocker. As we know quite a lot 1st leg games are non events and im sure the tie will really come to life at he County Ground in the 2nd. Great support from us last night not far off of 50% of the attendance is impressive. Paolo is asking for the Swindon fans to again come out in numbers for the home game and hopefully we will play to the tempo and quality we are capable of to take us to the final.

I said before the game that I'd be happy with a draw and I am, particularly given the playing surface, slope etc. It may sound strange but I'd rather start the second leg at 1-1 than 1-0 up. When you start with a lead at home there can be a tendency to be cautious and give the initiative to the opposition. Starting all square we will play our normal home game and hopefully take the game to them. Additionally it's not as though conceding the equaliser cost us 2 points as it would in a league game. It's still a good result, I'm sure Barnet would like to be in our position.
Apologies if my reasoning sounds crazy!

I agree about starting the 2nd leg all square Don, although a few goal advantage would of been nice
Most Town fans walking out of the ground last night seemed a bit subdued but like me it was probably more to do with the quality of the game more than anything, it was never going to live up to the excitement of Saturday but it didn't have the feel of a semi final. Like you say would rather be all square going into the home game than the other way round.
