LESS THAN 3 WEEKS

Til Andy fulfills his destiny

previously in slams i've known Andy was good enough but just didn't feel he had just enough to get over the line. We all know he is a far better player than his slam record shows so far although 3 finals at age 24 is no mean feat in anyones language.

This time though i genuinely feel differently. Our man is focussed, in the shape of his life while his main rivals all seem to have niggles or indifferences. Add to this the introduction of Ivan Lendl to Andy's camp where the mood around his camp seems to have been lifted. As i've said before I thought Lendl given the parallel way his and Andy's careers started before Ivan's went on to such amazing heights after Roland Garros.
I follow Andy's posts on facebook and he has posted videos etc showing how jovial it all is and how much he is enjoying working with the master.

Nadal i reckon is always a major threat and plays his chances down, this time though i feel he is justified in doing so after his poor end to last season including a demolishing at the hands of both Andy and Federer.

Federer, never write the man off but maybe just maybe his horizon is starting to get a bit closer. he's trying a slightly new brand of tennis, to finish the points quicker which can in turn cause a bit of erraticness to creep in and make him suspectible to a quarter final defeat.

Djoko The favourite and rightly so but can he live up to the hype of last year. the pressure is all on him and if he falls here possibly before the semi's there's gonna be a lot of talk of last season being a little bit of a flash in the pan. he should have lost in the semi in flushing meadows but Fed blew 2 match points on his own serve. maybe the halo he was wearing at that time has been blown to a new, slightly better challenger

Step forward and claim your prize Andy Murray

oh of course. he's hardly going to to lie down to him but i do think the gap has closed a bit. like yourself i kind of rule nadal out this time. djoko, followed closely by murray

depending on the draw it could well be a repeat of the final last year and given andy's recent form i honestly think he would take nole in 4 this time around

I suspect Andy will be on Nadal's side of the draw and Fed on Djoko's ( I am one of those who don't believe in random draw for the top 4!!!!!).

When that happens (and I am confident that it will), Djokovic will play Andy in the final and win in 5 sets.

Feel free to remind me of my predictions in 3 weeks time!

i think you'll be right mate apart from the final result. Andy always lands in Rafa's half of the draw and how many semi finals have fed and nole played

as i said though andy in 4

In my opinion, the rankings show the order of favourites at AO.
There is absolutely no reason why Murray should be considered favourite over Federer and Nadal, let alone Djokovic.
Same story every year...this unsubstantiated hype before every AO...
If he hadn't done it last year when Ferrer cleared the path for him by beating Nadal, I really don't see him doing it ever.
Unless the top 3 get injured or stg.

nole you really are quite arrogant

Why?

I don't really care who Marryay represents, that is entirely up to him. I judge him on his tennis skills and he is a hell of a player. He'll get it right some time soon, I'm sure.

Let's look at it this way: 90% of slams in the next 4-5 year will be won between Djokovic, Murray and Nadal. Mark my words!

I certainly hope and believe you'll be proved right blade. nole i apologise but sometimes you can be overly dismissive of Andy and don't show him the respect I believe he is due but that's your right.
