Robbo

Statistically the worst keeper in the bottom half:

What do people think? Keepers fault, defenses fault or Kean's fault?

I think is his been 1 of our best players this season, defence is terrible but i blame kean for being tatically naive!

I think Robbo has to take his share of the blame some of the goals he has let in have been very bad.Sunderland's free kick shocking goalkeeping but it's not all robbo's fault

I don't think it proves anything other than that the 5 worst keepers are also the keepers in the teams with the fewest points.

Bricks, if you ook at the stats everyone else in the bottom 5 at least has a keeper who is saving things.

That said our defence has been abysmal this season.

Whilst I agree that Robbo should have done far better on occasion, referencing the Sunderland free-kick is harsh. It was over the top of the wall and went in off the post. Others may disagree, but I don't think many keepers save that.

Stats like these are meaningless as they pretty much admit:

"This is not necessarily a reflection on Robinson’s performance this season as it may merely suggest that those in front of him are leaving him more exposed than his goalkeeping counterparts."

They talk of Hennessy making a save every 17 minutes, 5 per game. They don't mention anything about the quality of shots. To do a decent comparison you'd really have to rank each save and give points accordingly.

For example, in the Liverpool game if they'd only had two shots, the goal and the last minute blinding save; Bunn's stat would be 'saves 50%' whereas the account of the game is that he had no chance on the goal and pulled off a world class save to keep us a point...

Very hard to save but some would instruct a defender to stand on the post when its the 90+ minute and one of the best free kick takers is stood over the ball though.

The percentage of long shots conceeded is a bit troubling. Seems like Robinsons percentage of goals scored from outside the box is pretty high every season.

I thought he had only ever scored one PL goal...

Whilst I agree with the placing of a defender on the line, I also have to confess to being disappointed with the wall's effort - breaking as it did (think Yakubu) rather than offering their bodies.

I think Robinson is an excellent keeper when instincts take over (ie when he doesn't have to think). However his organisation skills are not the best and are being undone by Kean's incompetency to organise a defensive platform in front of him. His value to the Rovers team was more than just a great shot-stopper also but as one of our offensive weapons.

He is not the best long shot stopper and unfortunately quite a few of our goals conceded have come from outside the area.
