Every time I see this guy play, he is not as good as everyone says he is. I have never seen anyone give away the ball as much as he has. Let's put this in basic terms, he doesn't play well for most of the match and then he scores and then he is a massive hero. This does not display how good he is and say he was not at Liverpool and somewhere like Real Madrid, he would be a nothing footballer and would see him for what he is.

Gerrard is far from overrated. He may be past his best now, but he's one of the best midfielders the Premier League has ever seen.

and that means he isn't overrated because.......?
the way some go on, you'd think he was the greatest player ever.
He has skills, but is also one of the most selfish players to ever play the game. The reason he scores those 'magical' goals every now and then is due to the fact he blasts it from 30 yards about a dozen times a game, rather than pass to a player in a better position. The vast majority go wide, high or straight at the keeper, but when one does go in people rave about a wonder goal.
