Enough is Enough

Jesus Christ this is unreal What the hell has happened to our club? I honestly think a sniper rifle is required

Comments on Blackburn Rovers stories following the Jerome Anderson interview with Sky Sports have been frozen on this website after the Lancashire Telegraph received a letter from Mr Anderson’s solicitors. However, later tomorrow (Friday) we are setting up a new facility for readers to post their comments on Blackburn Rovers at an alternative email address. The LT will continue to allow fair and even robust comments on this subject acknowledging the depth of feeling of supporters and their right to express their opinions as long as these comments are lawful and obey our house rules. But we refuse to accept defamatory and unproven accusations of criminal or other wrongful activity which break the rules governing the comments facility.

From Jerome Anderson, Chief Executive of The SEM Group

To all Blackburn Rovers Fans.

I am taking this opportunity to write to all Blackburn Rovers fans regarding the many comments that have been posted online at both the Lancashire Evening Telegraph & through social network sites.

I wish to assure all fans at Blackburn Rovers Football Club that despite the contents of many posting’s that have appeared, I do not have any role or involvement with the club.

At the request of the Trustees, I was asked to assist them to find a buyer for their club. I was able to introduce a number of potential buyers to the Trustees and the Trustees chose the Venky’s Group as their preferred purchasers.

In January 2011 I was requested by the Owners to assist the club during that transfer window. I or SEM did not receive any payment whatsoever for any extended contracts for the players & neither have I or SEM ever received any payment whatsoever for the transfer of Ruben Rochina.

At the conclusion of the January 2011 transfer window I ceased to assist Blackburn Rovers Football Club in any capacity and I can confirm that I have not had any role or influence in their transfer policy or any other business of the club whatsoever since that date.

Unfortunately, within the last few months I & members of my family & staff have received abusive messages and threats that are unjustified and without foundation.

As a result of the abuse and threats that have been made, I have been left with no alternative but to consult my lawyers however, I remain of the opinion that those football fans that genuinely care for the club will ensure that such abuse and threats to both me and my family will now stop.

During the past few days, I have been privileged to have spoken directly with many Blackburn Rovers fans, who have totally understood, appreciated & respected any work that I have been involved with at the club & I would like to thank them personally for their ongoing support & I naturally wish Blackburn Rovers FC, its players, its Manager & its fans every success for the future.

I wish to thank SEM for the voluntary work they have done for Blackburn Rovers. The money saved on using a professional agency must have funded the purchase of players such as Ribero and Anderson (who is in no way associated with his father of the same name...

Nice how he throws in the word 'extended' to make what he says true. There must be a great number of other types of contracts/ways to make money. He's smart, I'll give him that.

So we spent £4m on agents' fees but none of it went to Anderson/SEM. Yeah right.
