Pesch to Bristol

So Bristol Rovers are interested in Pesch.

Would he go?

Would you be bothered if he did?

Lucky escape for Bristol Rovers I think.

There again, if he had gone he could have paid Burton pots of cash for Macca as he obviously rates him so very highly....

I thought it was a very loyal and decent thing to do and the chap is to be commended for it. It is the sort of stance that Nigel Clough took if you think about it - and look how that went.

He has made some rubbish signings, he has been naive at times, he makes tactical errors...but which Manager hasn't? (Did you see that stupid team Ferguson put out against Blackburn?) He is learning his trade. I make mistakes at work as I travel the learning curve.

Bristol Rovers is a poison chalice. Who would want to manage them? They are a bigger club but I dare say they are riddled with debt. Buckle left Torquay to go there and undoubtedly wishes he hadn't.

Last season was too horrendous for words. I wanted him out then. But we survived. I wanted him out after the Tamworth pre-season game. But he made some good signings in the week or so after that. This season is now our best.

He will be Manager in our 4th season in league football next season. There have been highs and lows with him as Manager but the record books show that he kept us in the league for our first 3 seasons.

Just a thought - Pesch was granted permission by Ben to speak to Bristol Rovers.

By granting that permission, is that an indication of how valuable our manager is in the eyes of the chairman?

Evening Brewers, interesting news regarding Pesch. On paper Rovers have a better squad this season than they have for a few years but something is not right down there at the moment and can't see things changing over night. I think their biggest mistake was getting rid of the Trollope/ Lawrence partnership. Otep is not wrong in saying Rovers is a bit of a poison chalice and the Gas fans I know woud agree. I don't know the ins and outs of your club but surely Pesch is getting most things right looking at your results and league position and another club wanting his services sort of proves that.

I had an idea that some of the regular Brewers on here wouldn't mind if Pesch left but are you not a bit concerned his possible departure would disrupt your very good first half to the season? I know a lot of Swindon supporters were not fans of Danny Wilson last
season But when he departed we actually went from bad to worse rapidly. Who would your ideal realistic choice of manager for Burton be if Pesch did go ?

It may or may not interest you but just heard Amankwaah has joined Rochdale Until the end of the season. Pleased for him and hope he does well.

I like and rate Robins, he was on the short list for the Swindon job along with Paolo, buckle and two others.

The transfer window and the following couple of months are critical for Pesch, he has already started to lose the fans support and it will take something a bit special to turn that round, i'm hopeful he will but not very confident.
Perhaps Ben was testing Pesch to see his reaction.
The situation with Nigel Clough was very different as was frequently stated by Ben.
Ben infact seems to have been very quiet all season, perhaps its time for him to issue a statement confirming the clubs stance and ambition because as i see it many fans are questioning our ambition. Consentious is we seem to be thinking small time and survival in league 2 when the majority are thinking progress and aim as high as you can.
From my point of view there are a few clubs in league 1 no bigger than us and Stevenage(who unfortunately for them seem set to lose Graham Westely today) are an example of what you can achieve. A statement along these lines would be good for supporter morale.
As a PS i wish Amankwaah well,he was very unfortunate at Albion not to get a contract as we have already commented for whatever reason, oh well we have got him fit and confident for another club to prosper from !
