Anyone make sense of this?

Not hating on Kenny but am I being completely stupid on this quote from him?:

"That change in formation was to do with what we had at our disposal. Daniel Agger has an injury we need to manage so it was forced on us a bit."

So a centre back gets injured and we need to manage by changing formation so we deploy more centre backs...

Huh?

Kenny is losing it.

Surely we didn't need to involve both Coates and Carragher.
(I'm just looking for the moment when we do become successful once more, look back at these times, and laugh)

Makes perfect sense.
What did Carra do last time he played with one defender against Stoke in the league?

No, he hasn't lost it.
We have no DM at our disposal, and with Agger out, and Stoke's aerial threat, I think that was necessary.
Our midfield & attack couldn't convert the possession to chances.. in comes Suarez..

Arghhh, I have to agree with SouthLondonManc:
I really think with that team, and his substitutions today, he totally lost the plot.

I suppose Kenny did not trust a Carragher/Skrtel or Skretl/Coates partnership, so he went for the safe option and played all 3. I can understand this for the first 70 minutes but why when we needed a goal did he not make an attacking gamble and go with two at the back to give us another option upfront? I hope Agger is alright btw

Yeah but Kenny gives his reason for the change due to Agger's injury and that it has lead to us being short in places. Only thing I can think of is that he was considering playing Agger as DM.

Kenny's ambiguity at a draw is unequalled. He obviously can't say we were rubbish or that he made a bad call when he did. Managerspeak.

I have been saying all season that Kenny's tactics have been wrong. I completely agreed with his tactics in the last game, when we got the lead and he closed the game out. However our problem this season has been against the weaker sides at home who we haven't been able to break down. How does Kenny solve that problem? He plays five defenders.

Genius.
