That time of year when I start thinking about saving for next seasons, season ticket. Potentially my 23rd in total and 4th consecutive.
My dilema is thus.
I have missed 3 games this season (home & away). Of the games I have witnessed, I can only recall feeling entertained and happy, once. That was the game against Arsenal. We lost. Go figure!
As for the rest of the games; I honestly walk out of villa park or wherever feeling rather deflated. I have, become a moaner (never used to be).
I have become so disolusioned with villa and I think a lot (if not all of it) is down to the most boring, negative and stifling style of football I have ever witnessed and on such a regular occurance as this.
Questions are; do I save for and renew my st to keep my mates happy or, do I save and renew if AM goes?
I hasten to add, I have no issue with AM's past allegancies. I have real issues with what I am paying to watch. I feel as though I am being mugged almost every game.
The other part of this dilema is down to a rather nice TV I want to buy. I have quit smoking and already have a decent sum towards it as a result. If I dont renew, I can have this TV 4 months ahead of schedule.
In short.
keep mates happy and renew regardless? (thereby investing in another season of dross and misery if AM stays)
Dont renew, get tv and be choosey of games I attend (if AM is still there)?
To renew or not to renew?

Get the telly, but only if it is a full on Smart tv with IP connectivity to allow you to watch all Villas games off t'internet - best of both worlds!!

For balance I must state, I have voted with my feet and will not attend any Villa games whilst McLeish is in charge

If you aren't enjoying it, don't renew. Nothing more depressing than going to something when you feel maybe you ought to or are committed to, when you come away with nothing to feel happy about.

The tv is winning. Thanks so far chaps.
Yes moo. Stopped new years day. Still in that time where it would be easy to slip back in however, beginning to find the smell on other people very offensive.

I 100% know how you feel about this, and I felt the same. I decided not to buy and by Christmas time found myself buying a half year season ticket. Ok at this time we were doing ok mid table, and we were doing ok in the cup.
I felt that Saturdays were not the same and I kinda got bored and missed the matchday routine. There was the odd occasion where it meant I could do something more fun, but it just wasn't the same. You also have to think that someone else could then buy your season ticket seat around your mates, if you then start playing more attractive football, you could struggle to get a seat in the area you want?
I know how you feel though and it's a tough call.
