So folks, what did you make of that?
For me there were two teams at full capacity - Ulster and Clermont who should clash in a cracker next week - and a lot of big names rather sluggishly going through the motions - Leinster, Munster, Harlequins, Saracens, whether thats a return to highest level rugby or a bit of post Christmas tiredness I'm not sure.
Ulster probably (just) put in the game of the round, though Clermont fans who saw 12 (count em!) tries would beg to differ. Game of the round? - Edinburgh last minute winner against Racing or Gloucester just falling short against Harlequins would be up there for me.
Very little yet certain as we go into Round 6, which will keep the excitement levels feverishly high, but thats one for another thread!

Ulster games was the game of the round for me.
ASM Clermont!!!! 82 - 0.... christ on bike!
But lets be honest, none of the big guns will fear them. But thats another surprise this year... how many big guns are left.... Leicester Knocked out, Northampton, Knocked out...
Leinster, Munster and mighty Toulouse? thats about it. Clermont dont deserve a tag of big guns until thy earn it rather than buy it if you know what i mean.

I already cant wait for Ulster Clermont next week. Really will be a cracker with so much on the line.
I think both teams will really be out to prve a point. As you said DBM, Clermont really have to prove themselves as a top European team, and Im sure will want to rectify been beaten at Ravenhill. Ulster are really looking to push on, and Im sure see a quarter final in the HEC as the next stage.

It seems quite possible that Ulster and Clermont will finish on 20 pts, if so and given that this presumes Clermont beat Ulster, is it tries scored that decides the position - if so you can see why Clermont went beserk.
I'm also going to make an outrageous prediction - Toulouse will not qualify, as Gloucester will beat them at Kingsholm!
