Cahill Officially Gone

http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10268~2578766,00.html

All Is done and I say, good luck Gaz. Listened to so many smug Chelsea "fans" going on about how he is just bench worthy and not good enough to start after seeing 'eff all of him. Well I hope he goes there and outclasses Terry as we know he can.

With this news, hopefully this will start a chain reaction that will kick off our own signings. Ream with any luck will be here for Liverpool, and here's hoping a few more are made evident in the next few days.

I'm pleased it over with, we needed the cash and Chelsea have a great signing for 7 million.

I know he will do well for them, when he plays along side Terry for England, they gel so well. A perfect partnership.

Good luck Gary.

Should have sold him in the summer (probably to Spurs) and rebuilt - stupid mistake - let's hope the Bolton senior management don't play poker...

Rebuilt with the players they were offering in trade? That probably a) weren't that good b) had wages we couldn't really afford. Good piece of business this I reckon.

Had a great four years out of the lad, became the first Wanderer to score for England in about 50 years, chipped in with some great goals, didn't do an Alan Stubbs and say "come and get me" to anyone, the only regret is we didn't sell him in Summer 2010 for £12m+.

I am glad he has gone to Chelsea as I prefer them to any of the other London clubs, Manchester clubs or the scousers.

They've bought a few from us over the years, Gudjohnsen, Anelka and now Cahill....oh, and Ben Haim, didn't really work out for him though.

It'll only be considered good business if we stay up. Otherwise, we'll be left wondering if he had stayed, would we have stayed up?

Hopefully, today will be the last time I hear OC on the radio, spending time rhyming off the attributes of Gary Cahill, and telling us what a great future he has at Chelsea etc.etc. When I turn the radio on, I want OC to be announcing a new signing, or what he plans to be doing to address our situation ...these are the things that matter to us Owen ..... spend some time telling us about THESE things please!

Gary will be just fine, and we don't need you wasting valuable time & resources on singing the praises of an ex-Wanderer!

Cahill has conducted himself magnificently through all of this. This, hopefully, will turn out to be a good move for both the club and player.

Best of luck to you, Gary. Make that England shirt your own.

When does Alonso come back? i really hope Ricketts replaces cahill in the middle and we'll have a more mobile back four with Wheats and Steinsson making the rest up.

I know OC likes the 4-4-2 but id love to see a passing DM in our team in a 4-1-4-1 i.e a leon britton (not that he'd come to us) someone who'd link up the play and gets the team going to move forward. Dos Santos maybe is a move in the right direction but he plays higher up the pitch aka m.davies. Can M.davies and santos play in the same team...
