My thoughts are for a rightback and maybe leftback especially Ridgewell leaves....
Ant guesses on players that will move and players in?
The worry is for me is Carr great player but at some point will need too replace, for his age true pro but next year will need new players and any players in now will have more time to gel into the team.
We are @ top end of expectations for a new Team heep right on as our song goes
Glad to be Blue well done chris hughton we have faith in you...
Strengthening to our squad?

Fair enough Zulu...
What i meant by pull socks up is maybe not the right word, i was pointing out that some of the players who should have been better than the ones signed this season for me have not performed as well as we expected these include Zigic.
while others have stepped up to the plate after being given a chance these include Beau and Murphy.
Also please find where i say its my choice to spend my cash at Wolves in preference to Blues? I had not said given a choice i would want to go to Wolves over Blues....
As far as Negative, if you care to look at the Summer there was a lot of people who was saying our club would have to make wholesale changes and sales, these inc BCFC83 who was upset at the board and expressed his fears that the club will begin a fire sale.
I was not as negative i thought we would not sell sell sell, but we kinda did only not as bad as BCFC83 said, but indeed he was spot on in that Yeung and his cronies and left us in a spot of bother.
And if you read my post i did not say we are doomed and will have to sell sell sell.
I said it depends on what the financial sitution is, we really just dont know. We are in the dark and all along Panu will always say nothing to worry about, he has been saying that since rumours of cash flow began 2 years ago...
Here is what i said..
"I think a lot depends on whats going on in China regarding the board over there, we know Yeung cant help us and so a lot depends on the other members or potential new investors.
Because if they have no interest or cash, then sadly we could be forced to sell sell and sell."
Now a lot depends on, and we could be forced are not a for gone conclusion that we have to sell and not spend, i said WE COULD! And that depends on whats going on behind the scenes.
Hopefully somehow the club can go without having to sell, and see that Hughton is doing great and we are in with a chance of Play Offs which could bring Prem Football and thus give cashflow to the club.
If we do not sell, i still worry the club will financially feel that should we fail to get promoted and we could see a lot of exits to raise cash and rebuild on frees as we have this season.
I dont think the Chinese owners have money or they are not willing to spend much of it.
Ask yourself what are the other share holders doing? Are they willing to just let the club sink and thus see the clubs shares they paid a lot for become worth a fraction?
How come they have not come together to finance the club in Yeungs absence and steady the ship?

Yes if you believe Pannu when Dann and Johnson, Gardner and the rest are told too leave because your wages we cant afford and we are broke... I believ that we still need to reduce wages as banjo kid is suggesting...
Pannu would like too hold players but real cash on the table may be neede to balance casg ou from cash in . These are the facts of life.. No input from Yeungs consurtium so all we have is money from tv , turnstiles and attendances are down..
I am sceptical about what he says but i am optimistic that things will be okay and play offs are achievable..

As for how i feel transfers will go this window.
I dont think we want to sell, but depends on the offers we may have little choice.
A big part is if the club do or do not need to raise any money ASP, maybe someone in China can bankroll any losses untill the summer as a gamble that selling off what may be needed now, may affect any chance of getting Promoted which is the path to Millions of cash to solve or ease any potential problems.
I dont think the club is in a position to be bringing in players, maybe we will see dead line few in if they are cheap loans or frees.
But that could be dependant upon raising money from sales and freeing up wages.
I just dont think the club can go out sign say 1-2 Strikers and 1-2 other players for other areas i dont think financially we are in that position, unless we first see a few leave the club.
And i think thats why we are seeing players from the Youth side being promoted to first team.
And on the subject of 6-0 it was 1-0 untill they went down to 9 men, now not trying to discredit our side but if Blues went down after 57 min to 9 men vs Wolves Tomorrow i would be shocked that Wolves never took full advantage.
I therefore dont think we would have won 6-0 had we had 11 vs 11 but feel we would have won still just not 6-0.

Thats the idea...
Right now we have a very good chance of getting into the Play Offs, thats not to say we would Win Promotion but Play Offs i feel we have a great chance, i said in the Summer i can see us getting 5th-8th and a lot will depend on King and Zigic to get us goals. So not negative Doom and Gloom Scenerio.
Carson Yeung does not own 100% of the shares, so imagine if you was one of the big share holders, do you let the company you invested into just slip down the pan?
If and we cant be sure because papers say one thing and Panu says another.
If the club did owe £6M then the Chinese have to weigh up some way to either pay that off some other way or see if they can delay that payment untill the Summer, because there is at present a decent chance of the Play Offs and thats a potential chance to play in the Prem.
Or do they not try and sort away to take care or pospone debt payments or pay cash themselves and thus see us have to sell players, this could damage the quality and strength of the club and morale.
While Hughton has done well on limited resources i feel they should try their hardest to make sure Hughton does not have to deal with a weakened side in the last half of the season, because there is a chance of getting to that Pot of Gold at the end of the Rainbow that is the Play Offs.
For the sakes of any financial problems, i think its worth a risk of getting into debt rather than clearing it off ASP for the chance to have a good crack at Play Offs.

6 - 0 is 6 - 0
If they hadnt hacked and kicked Zigic (the man you want sell most) all afternoon they wouldnt have had 2 sent off.
We have a great chance of the play offs on this form, even if we sell any of the players you mention in your 1st post we can kiss that goodbye.
On the 1st febuary, we will see just how much our Chinese friends think of us by who is still here.
Get what we can for Ridgewell (i stated why earlier) if the money from his fee and his wages go back into buying players then add the big man as well (even though he is starting to show some worth)
The rest of the squad MUST stay

Hi Banjo,
I think it will be caution all the way, money in wheeling and dealing loan or freebies.
That said some good players coming through that we may get on loan fro spurs etc who need games. They will see Hughton as good teacher too so not all is lost.
Fear though 3-4 players gone will be hard too replace but not Mission impossible.
Next year will be a problem if no money or Club ownership is not sorted out. We will need to spend again and bring Youth through.
3 Players that must hold Redmond, Mutch, and Aswante who is on loan younger players..
Hope he plays Valles tommorow wide left footer looked decent of what i saw... Fahey starting to play now that mouth ferguson as gone...
I agree play offs are not certain but need to be bolder and maybe some money signings such as Maynard 2 million would be great deal.
Sorry for essay but nice that your back

I agree
Zigic could be important given a run in the side the guy has potential you cant go from doing very well in Spain to being a flop.
The guy started to get to grips with the Prem and its a pitty McLeish never used him as often as should, i said Zigic could have a big effect in the Championship i just dont think he has started to play to his best for what ever reason that is, but to be fair he has not had consistant starts.
The reason i said Zigic and Ridgewell should go, is if we do need cash again time will see.
I would not want to see them sold, i have not said we should sell them for the sakes of it.
My point was that if we did have to save/raise cash then the money those two could save/raise would be huge compared to where else we could make any money from, because you cant sell players signed this season.
And i think Fahey, Murphy and Davies have all done well this season and we would not get more than £3M for all 3. Same goes with Beausajour.
So i was talking that if we had to make sacrefices if we did have to sell, then Zigic and Ridgewell would be the way to go they would free up £60K+ a week off the wage bill and raise £4M+
For that kind of financial benefit we would have to sell Davies, Beausjour, Fahey and Murphy.
Yes i think we should be keeping all of our sqaud, i also said in my first comment that we could also do with adding 2-3 ontop of that as we only have 3 Strikers, so i think 1-2 Strikers and maybe a Right Back would be needed.
But then again i dont think financially we can do that, and if we can instead just maintain what we have i think we would have done well.
I know we dont see eye to eye, and you may think i am just a armchair dingle bluenose.
But as far as Negativity goes, its only concerns over our financial position due to our Chinese Del Boy owners.
The team has done well, Hughton has done a great job and i feel we are on course to getting into the Play Offs.
I just said that a lot could be out of our hands and Hughtons, and if we did have to sell and we did fail to get Play Offs well we have to give Hughton credit because the guy has his hands tied.
I think once the Carson Yeung fiasco is over the club can start to sort itself out, because if these guy puts the club first surely he should know he is powerless and out of his depth and should be looking to sell to someone else who can do better for us.
But there seems no signs that he wants to do that, and we just dont know whats the score and for all we know some of the other share holders could even be Yeung under different names, i mean the guy used his dads name and accounts to fiddle cash so i would not put anything past him.

Agreed we have to keep hold of the youth players.
Butland is gonna be a class act, highly rated by Hart and Foster, i see Butland as being a big name in the future will he be as good as Hart who knows but i do feel he could be the best player to come through Blues in a long long time.
Redmond has tallent but i feel he has more competition for winger places in Englands future, i dont see as many younger keepers to compete with Butland the lads gonna be a Regular England international and my tip for Harts Number 2 in years to come and eventual sucsessor.

Would seem we are not looking at a firesale
Which is good news, we reject a bid for Ridgewell which some rumours is in the region of £2M, now considering Ridgewell has not played every game and that the stand in CBs and Murphy have done a good job, that shows the club are not willing to sell Ridgewell even though if he went we would be fine provided we brought another defender in.
That dont mean we wont sell him or other players, as any Championship even ones without any financial woes will have to lissen to decent offers.
So i feel we are not selling for the sake of it, or to cover debts. That could mean that if a better offer comes in then we may sell but potentially could then see some of that money invested back into the side.
What the summer brings i guess is unknown, what we need to know is are any of the current share holders prepared to take a more hands on role at the club at some point or is there any interested parties who may be interested to buy into us, or indeed take over from Yeung.
However i feel Yeung does not want to lose controll, i feel he wants to stay at the helm, but that would depend on the out come of his trial and then if he gets off the hook, can he really be trusted and does he have the cash, investors and plan to change things?
As it stands now, it could be that we may not have to see Hughton deal with a weakened side, i feel we need more debth in places and we are on track for a Play off Place push!
Bookies have us as 5th Favorites for Promotion as of now.
