Pointless letters will do no good!

I do not know how many of you have read this but it some open letter from a city fan and been allowed to be published onto the Mercury website I have read it and it seems like just another piece of pointless Pearson bashing from someone who thinks just because we have spent money we have some right to be the best team in the league!

http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/open-letter-Board/story-14429312-detail/story.html

I really do not get the point of this letter! If the owners did read this letter and took it seriously they can only think Pearson is obviously not the right man and sack him which in my opinion will only send the club further backwards than it is!

I just think there are so many blind football fans who only see the club in front of their eyes! You just have to look at the job he did at Hull, which when he took them over were in a worse position than we are now. Pearson completely reformed that team he shipped out and brought a brand new squad and a fraction of the budget sven spent on two players, who in my opinion have certainly not proved their worth once this season. If you actually follow football you will know that Hull did play attractive football, okay it certainly isn't in the same mould as Swansea but was going in the same direction as Norwich and you just have to look were they are now!

When you look at the players that he got at hull they are some of the best players in the league,

James Chester £300,000
Cameron Stewart £300,000
Corry Evans £500,000
Robert Koren Free (one of the best centre mid outside the prem in my opinion)
Robbie Brady Loan
Paul Mckenna a good player on a free
Aaron Mclean £1.3mil
Joe Dudgeon £300,000

Plus the players who he took from us for a steal and should never have been allowed to leave

Fryatt and Hobbs (Now Hull Captain) for £1.2mil and £800,000 respectively

the combined sum for those 10 signings is less than what we have payed for Mills alone!

Now your telling me Sven did a good job in the transfer market when he was given his chance to build his team!

doing Business in January always seems abit false, player values are usually inflated and its no time to be able to re-build a team.

Pearson needs time and that doesnt just mean till the end of the season! He needs the chance to build his squad in the summer like Sven got!

Some fans memories are very short! I put the position of the club now down to allowing Pearson to leave in the first place! A team that had a winning drive and mentality was broken up and we are now where we are at!

Get behind Pearson, do people not remember a certain O'neill who everyone wanted back as manager if some of you were not so short sighted you would remember he didn't have an amazing start to his Leicester career but look what he managed to do when we stuck with him and he managed to turn it round for the end of that season and we picked up enough points to make it into the play offs, anyone remember Palace at Wembley!

To use the old adage Keep the Faith! and stop Pearson bashing its very boring!

Good post!

To be honest I've reached the point of just wanting enough points so we don't get embroiled in any relegation battles this season.

Next season hopefully we'll have a proper go at it.

Excellent post! was really narked on saturday, but sincethen have had time to reflect. I'm sure Pearson is the right man! i think a lot of the anger is aimed at the players to be honest.....

A very regrettable letter, barely literate and not a little insulting to the owners. I for one certainly didn't see coming its late declaration that Forryan is "a great supporter of Nigel Pearson". With friends like these....

All that said, I cannot agree with all of the judgments offered by JLXXXXX, for reasons which I have advanced several times already on this board, and for the sake of peace and quiet will not repeat. I will only say that I myself put our present malaise to a combination of the absurd sacking of Sven, and Pearson's failure to date to make any good use of his enviable inheritance.

But there is no turning back now, so we must give Pearson (a reasonable amount of) time, back the team, not boo the players (because it just makes things worse) and NOT boo the owners (lest they sell up and go home, leaving us back down among the dead men with Forest and Coventry).

JL070 - please post this on the Mercury page. You make some fantastic points and it puts the original letter to shame...
