If Scots opt for independence...

Will the British and Irish Lions have to become known as the British, Irish and Scottish Lions and, if so, would it be better just to promote the team name as 'The Lions' more and more as British, Irish and Scottish seems a bit long winded in my personal opinion.

"The Lions" Its practically that way as we speak. Really in the general public not too many (if any) call it the british lions or the british and irish lions. We all, to my knowledge just call it The lions when we are referring to it.

Tho im sure some of my country men might have a different view i would think shortening the name to
"The Lions" as you suggest would seem a perfectly reasonable option. Also its been marketed for many years as "The Lions Tour" so we might just as well get on and change it. we are all used to it at this stage.

The Scots are not going to vote for independance. The majority of them are too intelligent to fall for the garbage spouted by football 'fans' on sites like this.

And most of that garbage is coming from Celtic supporters and we all know why.

Aren't Celtic fans typically pro-labour and labour are pro-union in the Scots Independence debate?

I would have thought more of the 'threat' from a football background would be teams like Aberdeen or Inverness?

I'd say Glasgow was fairly pro-union overall, not really the shortbread or tartan brigade!

Either keep this subject on topic or go away is my first reaction to the two most recent comments.

Or did u come here for a wum and a political debate?

No, it's a sporting debate, I just felt pacificparadise was having a go at me. For the record I'm fairly neutral/apathetic about the whole Scots Independence debate - I can see arguments for and against to be honest.

Aye, it was a bit of a dig at you 'Hartley' but a rather gentle one at that.

I agree this is no place to debate such an issue but I get pretty fed up when people on here (mostly football fans) with huge chips on their shoulders spout off utter garbage. I know everyone's entitled to his/her opinion (no matter how inane it is) but it's way OTTP at times.

Thankfully their views are barely reflective of Scots in general and do their cause more harm than good in the long run.

This is sport, leave politics to the politicians

The country is the UK not Britain, Britain is an Island. Unless we get the big saw out and separate Scotland from England/Wales we will still be very much a part of Britain.

I'll get the saw!
