A torrid first day for England, not the way they would’ve wanted to start the tour. However, this is nowhere near over, there is still 4 days of Cricket to be played. Pakistan can crumble at any minute, England are more than capable of producing a great fight back tomorrow, which will prove to be key in their chances in this Test.
A great performance by Ajmal, he clearly troubled the England batsman, 5 LBW’s suggest so. However, certain shot selections by England did prove to be a great help along the way for Pakistan.
I must say, Ajmal’s figures may standout, but Misbah’s captaincy on day 1 has to be praised. Apart from being pathetically persuaded to go for certain reviews, Misbah’s bowling changes, field placing and decision making did play a part in England performing the way they did.
And, on a lighter note ... **** You Bob Willis... Why people criticise bowlers bowling actions when they take wickets is beyond me! - Why not do it when they have bowled 45 overs for 1 wicket, conceding 100+ runs!
Pakistan's Day, But It's Not Over...

AVFC,
Misbah's captaincy in the morning session was fantastic, especially his use of DRS and bringing on Hafeez early to get rid of Cook but I thought you could've buried us at 94-7.
As Waqar Younis pointed out on he seemed to be playing the scoreboard rather than the match situation when Swann and Prior were batting which allowed us to just about stay in the game. However we didn't find anything off the pitch in that evening session and need a big first few hours tomorrow.
A lead of anything over 100-150 with Ajmal to bowl on a day 3/4 pitch and I think it's curtains.
Disappointed with some of the batting in that first session, thought Prior was superb. Well played, you've laid down a marker.

Isn't this incredibly obvious?
