Howson has stated he wants to play at the highest level, and that is why he has been stalling for 12 MONTHS on signing a new contract.

12 months ago we were in fourth place in the league and only 2 points from an automatic place. We had just played Arsenal at the Emirates and taken them to a replay in the FA cup.

We were the top scorers in the division at the time, and Howson had already contributed 8 goals.

So what did Howson know, that the rest of us didn't, because based on the stats we were heading for promotion, we were competing equally with one of the best teams in Europe and we were scoring goals for fun. We were in the best position we had been for years, things were looking positive and we had a great chance of being promoted last season.

So I find it strange that JH our local hero, who stated on numerous occasions that he wanted to lead Leeds to the top again, wouldn't sign a new contract at the time it was offered. Or why after the new year his performances declined, scoring only 3 goals in 24 outings,

I wish he could be honest and say ' The club wouldn't pay the wages I was demanding so I'm leaving.' or 'I don't have any faith in the club or its management and we have no chance of ever being promoted with this shower in charge'.

Sadly his contract gags him, but I am angered when he says he wants Prem football. Jonny, you had the chance to lead your home club to that last season, but you blew it.

I'd rather you had just said nothing to the press.
