Pakistan's performances in 2011 were outstanding. No matter whom the opponents were. From the drawn series v RSA, and the magical WC run, they have proved a lot of people wrong.
But, after today's victory, has this shown, Pakistan have finally turned a new corner? They are playing good Cricket, but am I now just waiting for something to hit us very hard, which will bring us back down again? Just doesn't seem real.
Controversy has stayed away. That I feel has played the biggest part in Pakistan performing the way they have done in recent months. Pakistan is playing exactly like their Captain... simply calm. Not like Pakistan at all. But it is working, so I hope it stays that way...
Is This Real?

Rabbithole, if I can't give credit where it's due, what part of 'Well played Pakistan' did you fail to comprehend?
Also, never once was part of the 'chest beating', if you read what I wrote, I said it would be a close England series victory, but I didn't account for a batting collapse of Australian proportions....
If you have actually watched the game, as I did, what I described was pretty much what happened. We made more bad decisions than they did, and it cost us the game.
Like I said, never let the facts get in the way of a good wum eh?

Rabid toe....
If you care to look, I said that I`d be happy with a 1-1 series result before a ball was bowled....
Wind ya neck in and stop crying pup
WOW! the 1-3 hammering really does hurt you... Mug

U2.......My point is this...
Every pommie supporter on here blames the manner in which England lost and not how well Pakistan won.
If a batsman plays at a ball that is obvious to the armchair experts that he should of left for the keeper and gets out, is not necessarily always a bad choice by the batsman alone.....the bowlers could of been playing him into a trap and out of frustration the batsman makes an error of choice.
When a bowler has worked on a certain player for 2 overs or more before his stupid shot selection it isn't just the poor shot selection that lost his wicket, the bowler deserves most of the credit for forcing the error of judgement but the pommies continue to bash the batsman and not an ounce of credit to the Pakistan bowlers.

England's downfall was they were almost batting by numbers, and giving no respect to what is a decent bowling unit.
Pakistan did not have to work for the wickets, they just had to bowl it in the right place, and sometimes in the wrong place, and we simply threw it away.

I firmly believe that man for man we have a stronger team, and we 'should' win this series, but they will not do that if they do not play they way they can.

Hmm,
Your arrogance and lack of dignity in defeat is breath-taking mate. Pakistan didn't have to work for their wickets and sometimes bowled in the wrong places to get those wickets? Time you lived in reality boss and not in dream land...... Give up on the sour grapes, its not doing you any good.

It's taken a while for me to get back to this, but I would say that the several legside dismissals that England offered up were to bad balls. If you've ever bowled at any competitive level (which I have), no-one ever bowls to get a player caught down the leg side (too much risk in leaking big runs since the 2 behind square on the leg side rule change many years ago), those are lucky dismissals.
Again on the lack of dignity, what part of 'Well played Pakistan' passed you by?
Look, you won the game, I said well played, but it is glaringly obvious that we did ourselves no favours and made life easy for your bowlers.
Don't fall into that dreamland trap yourself and believe that your guys did anything other than put the ball (mostly) in the right place and allowed most of our batters get themselves in trouble. There were a few, but not many really good deliveries (for both sides).
Be under no illusions that the game was won and lost in the minds of our top 6, the bowling on both sides was pretty much on a par.

Thats fair enough HMM. Differs from what you said a few days ago slightly in relation to "pakistan didnt work for it".
