Town v Macclesfield

It would be good to make up some ground on the top three this weekend. This of course assumes that we win and that's by no means a foregone conclusion. Macclesfield will have played the midweek game but despite losing at Bolton their confidence will have had a boost. It also assumes teams above us dropping points, can't see that in the case of Crawley (at Plymouth) or Cheltenham (home to the Gas). Shrewsbury could take something off Southend though.

I'd like to see Connell start with Benson up front and Smith in for Risser. Will Rooney get a debut or be on the bench? I'd like to see him start.

Constable doesn't want to know then...I'm not that disappointed, I wasn't convinced he'd be the answer. Hopefully some of the fringe players will be off soon thus saving some wages...any ideas? Kerrouche I guess and I'd be happy to see Magera move on, he's had enough chances but just hasn't done it for us (although I am one of a small number who saw him score for us!)

Thoughts?

Always good to read your posts ,Don.
I don't know about the strikers. We seem to have more than Bryant & May. Safety matches tho'.
After trying to light the fire with the normal ones, my missus sent me to get some extra long ones. Worked a treat!
We need a Crouch type. But without that, I hope that Connell is given the job. What we don't want is a big lump, a big unit which is as mobile as my freezer, which I have named Magera!

Been away for a few days so just catching up on the latest. I've got tomorrow down as very winnable but like you say Don no game is a given. I've just read Rooney has a slight injury so may not be included in the squad. I fancy the Gas to get something at Cheltenham due to them getting McGee in as manager this week. I also wasnt to bothered about Constable not signing as I think there are better players out there to be had. I would also start with Benson and Connell up front but wouldn't be to surprised or disappointed if its Benson and Murray with Connell coming on later in the game. Gollum, the long kitchen matches are the way forward, at least you then have time to blow them out before the flame gets to your fingers. Think we are going to give a team a thumping soon so im going for a long shot 5-1 result.

Red - I'm thinking a lamp-post...your freezer is probably on castors!

Notts - good point about the 'new manager' effect, hope that happens (although I seem to recall Aberdeen were in freefall when McGee left!)

1-0 would do me, and I don't care who scores!

Great 3 points and great results elsewhere!

My freezer ain't on castors! But still as mobile as Magera.
What a 1-0! 3 points!
Now I need to find a way of getting a ticket for Leicester!

Why not go online with LCFC and get one from them, so long as you're ok with sitting amongst Leicester supporters. Your address will be ok. I did this at Shrewsbury and Port Vale and had no problems.

Dave, at the Town box office has sorted me & my daughter tickets. We didn't want to sit with the Leicester!
But the Town website said that general tickets could only be sold to people in person at the box office.
However, star Dave, albeit after a 30 minute wait on the 'phone, recognised my name & has done the business!

Well done on sorting your tickets Gollum. Spot on prediction Don, and I get the Rovers result right so all good. I was lucky that I got through to the ticket office without much of a wait. I'm looking forward to a stress free game as its likely that we will be beaten but in all honesty would swap going through to round 5 for the JPT Wembley final if it meant either one or the other.
However much of a poor run Leicester have been on they still have some real quality players and have now won their last two games so have picked up and wont want to be beaten by us so can't see them taking our game lightly.

Not able to make the trip away for the FA Cup but hope that you will give it some vocals for me RED G.
Its been a bit busy here with the missus so I haven't been posting etc for a bit. Rooney and Benson seem good bargain buys by PDC and hopefully another one in before the weekend, dunno if he is going to be Cup tied or not.. Fodders was a good bit of business, so things are knitting together well and this Boateng bloke is supposed to be a bit of a man mountain, so that sounds good as long as he is more mobile than Magera, who I read is like Magoo, dunno where anything is. Hands up who remembers Mr Magoo.
Anyroad, I'm back for a bit, anyone seen Gusset Gas ??

Nice to hear from you again S.Fan. I think i remember Mr Magoo, Was he the man with the big glasses who drove around in a bubble car messy everything up ?.
Rooney looked really dangerous when he came on as a sub on Saturday. He will continue to frighten plenty of defenders this season and I think it is definitely a case of Gillinghams loss is our gain. Benson has settled in amazingly well and looks a real threat too. His all round play has really impressed me and I'm sure he will continue to score regular goals for us. Apart from ourselves and Burton no other teams fans post regularly so it's nice when people like Rootshallbloke joins us but haven't heard from Gusset in ages and their site is dead. I'll make a point of posting my opinion regarding the Leicester game but probably won't be until Sunday as we are hoping to stop off for a meal when we get a bit closer back to Wiltshire.
