OK, as hard as it is, lets just forget where the Michael Jackson statue is and the reasons for why it's been done.

I want to solely bring up the subject of the quality of the statue.

Did Al-Fayed make it himself? I was expecting a bronze statue, much like the sort you see of people like Brian Clough or Sir Matt Busby.

Someone on another thread mentioned that it looks like one of those model sets that kids have where you make it in a mould then paint it yourself. I couldn't agree more.

I have the deepest of sympathies for the Cottagers fans. I really was preparing to sweep this matter under the carpet had it been a professional job but this looks cheap and tacky. Your hearts must have sunk and slipped out of your backsides when your saw it unveiled.
