Chairman Sir John Madejski has been quoted as saying this is the billionaire he has always hoped would come in and take over. The club can now stop selling it's top players every summer to remain one of the few clubs in the country to make an operating profit, and can now bring in a "different class of player" in their quest to get back to the Premiership and then push on and become a permanent fixture in the top division.

Last week Reading were linked with Huddersfield striker sensation Jordan Rhodes, and Reading are due to complete the £3.2m capture of his signature before the close of the January transfer window.
