I am still confused about the game. Some of the stuff I have heard in the media makes me wonder if I was at the same game
Before the game I thought Tottenham would come and have a real go at us. But they did not, I thought they were very disappointing and lacked ambition.
We got ourselves 2-0 and I thought we would go to win 3 or 4 nil. Bale, Lennon, Modric and RVV didn’t impress at all.
Then we gave them a “gift", and allowed them back into the game (no styling goal it was a big lump from the centre back). Then Bale scored a great goal from nothing, but Tottenham still didn’t go for the throat. Yes they should have scored a third, again through our “gift". Not because they had loaded players forward (it was a 2 man break), it was us that were pressing for the goal, allowing the break away.
On balance I thought a draw or a City win was a fair result. We had more chances, tried to score more often etc.
Luckily for neutrality I had a Bolton fan with me, who had the same opinion. His view was Bale was the most disappointing he expected more from a guy valued in the same class as Messi and Ronaldo and more from a team with Title ambitions.
I couldn't disagree.
Did I go to a different game

After we scored the first we were all over them, we after scoring the second conceded a howler an a great goal!
My heart was in my mouth when that cross nearly got turned in, when it didn't I thought we might get something hear, such is the nature of the game.
Best team won in both games.

And City`s second was not an howler from the Spurs point of view? You were not all over Spurs after you scored the first goal. There was only about 15 minutes between all four goals, so you could hardly say you were all over Spurs. You had a couple more shots on target than Spurs, apart from that the game was very, very even.

If you dont defend a set piece it's not a howler, it's just lescott was stronger.
Your first goal was a howler.

Couldn't agree more Paul. I thought we kept them out of it, and even then we certainly didn't have that much to do. Our squad missing 2 or 3 major players still made "the spurs" look average.
After all the guff spouted all week by 'arry and co. It was so good to put them back in their place. The only way they could compete was by trying to unsettle the City camp with lame taunts. They obviously hadn't done their homework.
Tottenham. Nothing club. Fact. All together now... Oh when the spurs...
