A United fan living in London

As a united fan living in London I want to ask other United fans on what they think of my stance.

Having grown up in London and watching the horrible Petit-Henry-Pires-Viera quartet, I have always found Arsenal as my most hated opposition.

I understand that home grown fans in Manchester hate the likes of City and Liverpool. Don’t get me wrong, I hate City and Liverpool, but there is something about Arsenal that really makes me hate them.

Without the obvious 'plastic arm chair fan' comments, do you think its acceptable that I hate Arsenal more than the other two and are there any Manchester born fans that think alike?!

Interesting, I live in Aberdeen, Scotland now due to work commitments but go to games when I'm home. My best friend used to live in didsbury as well.

I left Manchester at about the age of 4 or 5 as well once my dad finished his uni degree and we then moved south when he got a job there. How's Scotland life?

Life in Scotland is interesting, different but interesting

United have had a pretty low net spend over the last say 5 years... quite a few teams actually have more. Not Arsenal though, think they may have actually made money over the last 5 years. How are we supposed to compete with that ?

------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm not saying that I expect United to compete with Arsenal in terms of profit/loss, I'm merely pointing out that the widening of margins between the clubs has a hell of a lot to do with United's ability to spend a great deal more than Arsenal on players, whether in the last 5 years or not, you can't deny the contributions of players like Rooney, Ferdinand and Nani to your cause.

It's not as if Arsene Wenger hasn't had money to spend, he's chosen not to that's the difference.

Bloscar I wasn't saying we should spend as little as Arsenal, just that we don't spend that much in comparison to a few teams but we do spend way more than you...

For me there is no doubt Arsenal would still be around the top with the spending United have done over the years, I couldn't say that for most teams but Wenger is a quality manager who can do it without a crazy budget...

Well Captain 7, it seems we generally agree on this issue. Btw samba star, trust me, Wenger hasn't had money to spend, our board is as tight as anything. You lot dislike the Glazers, but at least he provides Fergie with sufficient funds to strengthen the team!
