Back to the 1960's

If we don't win a trophy this year, it'll be our worst run since the dismal 1960's, when ironically, Spurs last had a golden era.
So Arsene will be a double record holder. Our most successful Manager and our least successful Manager over the last 40 years.
It seems that Wenger has nothing more to offer the club - but could it be the fault of The Board too?.
I don't think it's a coincidence that Spurs' good run has happened during a partnership between Levy and Rednapp. Just like when Dein and Wenger were in harness. Since Dein's departure, Wenger has been out on his own.How have the Board supported him? Most of them are tired old men of over 70. Poor old Fiszman was in Switzerland then became ill. Now we have Kroenke, Lording over Arsenal from America.
The Board cannot escape blame for Arsenal's 7 year decline. It's not just Wenger who is at fault, but also The Board.
They talk about Arsenal being run like a sustainable business. In a proper business, it would be time for a clearout.
However, the key to success for a Premiership side is The Manager.
What other Manager could work for a scelerotic Board of Directors like those at Arsenal? One day when Wenger writes his memoirs, maybe we'll know the truth behind Arsenal's relative decline as a top 4 club. My guess is that the real truth is lack of funds.
Meanwhile, Rednapp can be happy to know, he's got Levy there for support when he needs it.

By Scelerotic, do you mean 'sclerotic'?

If so, are you using it to refer to the general degeneration of our clubs 'nervous system' by the gradual misfunctioninig of various key organs within it?

If so,

took Arsenal 8 years to win a trophy after the double in 71 and 8 years to win a trophy after the FA cup in '79, so not worse off at the moment.
