I've never really rated Mikel, I can see that he's a steady unspectacular type of player, but unlike Song, Carrick or other players asked to play in such a disciplined capacity, he doesn't impress or excite me.

Makelele was the best player I've seen of late (in the world) in this type of role, he was awesome.
