A good move by the RFL IMO.
The RFL buy Odsal

Souths ....... we're all interested in the future of RL - but it has to be a level playing field. Where has the RFL been with Cas and Wakey - they've had to pull out all the stops to source funding and planning permission to retain SL ambitions.
The games governing body having a vested interest in one of the major clubs just can't be right, otherwise where does it end?

Until you find out what sort of money the Bulls are paying for rent in comparrison to the old lease we won't know if the R/L are propping them up or not...

The RFL are propping them up by involvment, it doesnt matter to what extent.
WHY Bradford and why now , when other clubs havnt received any help.
I dont see Odsal as a RL national stadium, or hope not.

A 3rd party should/could be able to lease the ground to the Bulls if that's what works - but not the games governing body. Even in a Bradford mind that can't be right???

You say it stinks but would you invest in Wakey? the ground is a shambles, in a terrible spot , is unlikely to attract invest etc......
Who is actually sub letting to the Bulls? The RFL or a shell company.......???
Mr Hood approached the RFL as a business man with a business deal. The Bulls wanted stability and security from predatory approaches, usually dressed up as a merger with City but a thinnly veiled disguise to get Odsal. The ground and its potential retail development was attracting alot of people. Any numpty will see that in the last 5 years the whole area around the top of the M606 has been totally redeveloped - even the old golf club cashed in and sold the whole lot to M&S for a tidy sum......
Where there is money there is some nasty devious people.... Mr Hood saw this and put a stop to it

Totally irrelevant.
Mr Hood should've sourced his own revenue and the club should've secured it's own grounds future.
Right now you've got a major club who've got the games Governing body getting too closely involved.
To be perfectly honest, i'd not care about the RFL involvement, if they'd shown more interest in protecting the future of other clubs. Smacks of hypocrisy to me.
By the way - Odsal - it's not Harrogate you know.....

Its not Harrogate - its probably worth more where it is than in Harrogate especially in retail/warehousing terms.
Are you aware that the RFL either part own or are involved with Cougars stadium. Spotland Stadium and many amateur teams fields.....
I'd love to know where all these invvestors are in this current economic climate? Hood tried and the only option available was to approach the RFL - who also happen to think it was a wise investment.....

Bradford had no investment for years, all the big developers have walked away from the city. Its run down above most areas, and can not find major investers. Even the city centres a dump.
Along came the RFL to buck the Bradford trend. WHY>
