Subbuteo makes a comeback.

OK, hands up all those whose childhood revolved around two things, playing football and playing Subbuteo ? I see from the Sun website that Subbuteo is making a comeback. Hopefully there will be loads of local kids forming Leagues and playing Subbuteo like we did, or am I just dreaming.

I can't see modern kids playing a game where THEY have to control some thing and not by using a computer or joystick.

I wish the makers all the best and hope that a number of oldies will bring back their youth and start playing again.

NY, yes that was me too, real football all day long and subbuteo at night.
Sad really?
No, it was fantastic and i learned a lot.
I too still have all the stuff in the loft, in fact i was only thinking the other day that i might put the lot on ebay.

Yes all those arguments re flicking or nudging! and why was it called subbuteo? I've never spoken to my sister since she bought a set of Leeds players

According to Wikipdia
The "Subbuteo" name is derived from the neo-Latin scientific name Falco subbuteo (a bird of prey commonly known as the Eurasian hobby), after a trademark was not granted to its creator Peter Adolph (1916–1994) to call the game "Hobby"
Sorry you asked?

I definitely worry about you Hound, so does Bally. I feel at times that my humour is off the wall, but I must admit sometimes you make me appear sane!!!!!

Thanks for the memories! I'd hate to add up how many hours I spent playing. I gave all I had to my nephew - must ask him what happened to it. He now has a son and both are Rovers Season Ticket holders and his daughter goes to many games. She also plays for one of the Belles junior teams. The Rovers tradition continues in my family.
