People used to not like him because he didn't run around like a headless chicken. The reason he didn't is because he had ability and great movement off to ball, so he was always ready for an attacking pass.

Andy Hughes, who is terrible, was a fan favourite and Beckford, who got over a goal a game for Leeds, got a lot of criticism. Never understood that.

8 goals in 14 starts for Everton is good going. He suffered because they often played 1 upfront, which isn't his game. He's miles better than any of our current strikers. I think Everton would have wanted to keep him, except they needed to see and he was an expendable asset.

Strikers like Keogh who don't score anything get criticised but then Leeds fans also criticised Beckford who scored loads. Putting the ball back in net is what gets you points. We'd have got promoted last season if we still had him.
