The magic of the cup?

First time poster and all that! Just a little moan about the tickets for the FA Cup this weekend. How come league games for under 8's are free but the FA cup is a fiver each? They wonder why attendances are falling. I'm sure I'm not the first to moan nor the last!

Anywho, rant over.

Erm the above should be in ' the magic of the cup' thread. Not sure how it got in here.

Okay, but...what about the night that demon de Vries demolished spurs, eh? A cracker of game, if you are thinking like me of our 3-2 cup victory in January 2006, and de Vries' 90th minute winner....

Swindon fan here regardless of my user name. I think it is decent of Leicester to give us Town fans the same discount you are getting for having a season ticket £15. our prices for most areas of our ground on a match day is £23 for both home and away fans and that's in div
two. Referring to "the magic of the cup " it would help to
bring that magic back if cup games like ours were
shown on TV instead of continuously showing the top
prem sides week after week. Was impressed with your
performance and very good win down at Southampton
and now hoping we can give you a game this weekend.
We are making the most of coming to a decent ground
and should have a good following so looking forward to the day out regardless of the result.
All the best.

Agree with you Notts Red, I would prefer to watch a variety of teams on TV rather than Utd, Liverpool, City week in, week out, especially in the cup. However, if we didn't have such a 'glory supporting' country and everyone supported their local teams then I'm sure teams shown on TV would even out.

Good call red! Didn't FA last season stream some live games on their website?should bring that back if they can't be bothered to air these sort of games.

I know a few down here are going to local pubs to watch our game live. Sky Italy along with a few others like Sentander Ireland have shown our other FA cup games and are doing so again this weekend. I have a list if anybody is interested. I know you have been on TV a couple of times in the last week or so but I'd choose Championship and league football over the prem every time. Any good suggestions for parking Saturday without getting trapped in a car park for ages after the game. Cheers.

Notts Red - Dont go to the parking places near the ground which have signs saying 'official match day parking'. Whilst they seem a reasonable price, they take around 45-60mins to get out of. Your best bet is the long road and side streets leading up to the ground, or otherwise park in the city centre shopping car parks and its only about a 15-20min walk from there. Check google maps for walking directions from the city centre car parks to the ground.

I must walk fast, google maps says its a 1.5mile / 30minute walk from the city centre.

Notts red. Check welford road before Victoria park. Bit nearer than the centre but still a good walk!
