So Mark Lawrenson has been shouting his mouth off this month about Ashley Young. To be honest, these 2 articles sum him and his 'big 4' media cronies up perfectly.
On June 4th Ashley Young, as a Villa player, was not good enough for Man United.

On June 24th, 20 days later and within hours of signing for Man United, he is "perfect for united".

Why do I let this stuff annoy me?
Good luck to Ashley. He could have been a Villa legend, but, like most our wantaways, is destined to spend the next few years in Manchester, warming benches

See Lawrenson said:
"Everyone has recognised for a long time that Young was a good player but everyone also said he would have to leave Aston Villa to become a better one."
Typical!!! Would he have improved going to Liverpool? Or Man C? Not a chance. Villa was a good side for Young to be in. He's chosen to go to the one side which really should be good for him. Wise lad. Fact is, Villa are never going to get a fair call from Lawrenson.
If our defence hadn't leaked vital goals last season, we could have overtaken Liverpool, in spite of all the upsets. If the defence gets sorted and McLeish can fill the Young gap and get the attack playing like they did at the end of last season, reckon we can overtake them this; Liverpool are still a poor side.
