I was thinking about the Balotelli incident today and his 4 match ban. The fact that he has been punished after the game means that we do not directly get an advantage (I know he won't be able to score while he is banned but the outcome in our game will not be changed).
This may sound like a crazy idea but stay with me, when a red issued after a game, 1 of the games they miss should be the next time they play the team which the offense occurred.
So in the case of Balotelli the 4 match ban should be split up into 3 games now (Liverpool, Everton and Fulham) and the remaining game ban should be served when Man City next play Tottenham. That way we directly see an advantage given to us.
I may not have explained it very well...
Just a thought...

The player is a complete idiot, and frankly if he takes him and his agent as far away from England as possible, it will be a blessing in disguise.
What`s his agent on, being persecuted my a.....e, he has just stamped on a fellow pro, and he calls that being persecuted.

I can see the logic in it to a degree - the team who suffered at the hands of an incorrect decision should be a team who benefit directly from it in some way.
The only "problem" with it is had this been the rule then Balotelli's suspension against Spurs wouldn't happen until next season. What if Balotelli is sold to a club abroad in the summer? He would only serve a 3 game ban this season, instead of 4 games (as the rule currently stands). The point is, having the rule as you suggest could lead to the possibility/probability of a player never having to serve (part of) his suspension against the club in which the offence was committed.

Or if one of the clubs gets relegated/promoted

Go down your local town centre Friday night. Do that and see what happens. Cuffs and about 3 years. Stamping on a guys head when he's on the floor? Your fate is in the hands of the judge. Get him gone. Even if he feels persecuted.
