I think everything bad about the Classico has Mourinho as the genesis. He's cranked up the edge and intensity to this fixture bringing so much bitterness to it and his players show it on the pitch.
Almost every game between these 2 has one or more among Ramos, Pepe, Carvalho, Marcelo doing something rash that deserves a sending off. Their players play on the edge and the game deteriorates as a spectacle with Barca reacting by diving.

Diarra should have been sent off. Pepe gave 2 penalties away which werent given and he should have had a red card long time ago. Arbeloa deliberately fouled and injured Iniesta.Couple of body checks from Alonso.
I am biased towards Barcelona but if the other team is playing so rough why not milk it? If you weren't committing these stupid fouls, the opposition cant play act.
In the final 20 mins Madrid finally decided to play football and they were actually playing really well. But it is too bad that they didn't do that from the beginning.

Its a tough one with Barca, I don't know whether my over-riding feeling is admiration for their ability and style or disgust for their diving and cheating. Being English probably the latter.
