need to at least put bamford and lascelles on the bench if we are going to rely on academy players in the future they will get some experience and hopefully some playing time ready for next season

I've not been this excited about an emerging striker since Craig Westcarr, and Emile Sinclair.

Seriously, don't expect too much too soon, scoring goals for the youth team is child's play (literally) compared to the Championship. I think the next step should be a loan to a league 1 or 2 club

We had no desperate need to play the youngsters under BD.

Shows how far we've fallen when we are clamouring for an 18 year old to save our season.

He hasn't had chance to play them since the Wigan game, they only played on the thursday night before West Ham and we haven't played a senior game since. Maybe they'll be in the squad for Burnley.

I keep hearing the old argument about bringing youth players into a struggling team can harm their development. I only ever seem to hear us say it and bearing in mind how few players we bring through I think it's just a polite cover story because the youth isn't good enough.

It's annoying that there are only 5 on the bench now but I'd like to see him get some run outs. Let's face it he's a striker and unless he gets clobbered I can only see bonuses. He can hardly do worse than who's playing now! Lascelles is slightly different, centre half is a position where your mistakes are more high profile and costly, he's younger and also just coming back from a bad injury. I'd take it easy with him which is a shame as our defence is awful.
