Manchester United supporter in peace
I have huge admiration and respect for Stoke City and Tony Pulis and in my opinion they play great football. They are an honest and direct team who just launch the ball directly into the opposition box and id rather watch Stoke City than Arsenal, Swansea or Barcelona.
This evening I saw Real Madrid adopt Stoke City's style of play and almost beat Barcelona. When Real played their usual traditional style they really struggled but adopting a more Stoke like approach really unnerved Barcelona and almost beat them
I remember Watford and Wimbledon having great success with their route-one approach and this approach is fully endorsed by the Brazilian world cup winning manager Carlos Alberto Parreira
I think the criticism Stoke City get is totally totally unfair and very unjust

Whenever Madrid have played Stoke-style, Barça have pummelled them. Tonight's about the 1st time under Mourinho they've gone out to trade blows in the right way.

Madrid played very direct and Benzema should have made it 3-1 from a long ball from Contrao. Benzemas goal to make it 2-2 was pure route one from goalkeeper and flick-on. Barcelona struggled against Madrid playing route one football

This 'route-one' nonsense I read so much about is clearly written either by people who have never seen Stoke play or those who pander to lazy media stereotypes. Still, shame to let a good bandwagon pass by un-jumped on, eh?
