Unfinished business...

A warm welcome to all the Swindon fans on Saturday. I hear you will be bringing a decent following which should make for a good atmosphere. Not sure how many home tickets have been sold, but hopefully enough for a reasonable attendance.

For the supporters of a slightly more mature hue this will bring back memories of 1993 when we were robbed by a blatant Steve White dive in the Play-off Final at Wembley. Favourites going into the game, we were 3-0 down to Glenn Hoddle's Swindon before we knew what had hit us, but unbelievably we staged a spirited fightback and when Steve Thomson swept in the equaliser to make it 3-3 there looked to be only one winner.
And it wasn't Swindon.

Then White threw himself in a balletic dive over Kevin Poole and the ref pointed to the spot. 4-3 game over. Swindon promoted.

Cruel? I was given the video of the game by some 'kindly' relative and to this day I have never been able to watch any further than the equaliser. No-one was happier than me when the video recorder packed up and we upgraded to a dvd. All videos consigned to the tip. Get in!

Anyway, back to Saturday's game. Good luck Swindon. Enjoy your day out and please, please, please let us win by the most unfair, undeserved, hotly disputed penalty since .... ....ever!

as of 9.a.m this moring on your officail site it say you've sold 3,469 tickets. With two days of sales on top I'd expect the 4,000 mark to be easily passed

I actually live in Leicester.
But the Pork Pie roundabout is a lot more dangerous than the magic one.
At the magic roundabout, no-one except taxi drivers knows what the hell is going on, so everybody drives at a snail's pace. Saffron Lane is a different kettle of fish..But either way, if roundabouts are the focus for visitors, what does it say about the football?
I might try the Counting House, or just get a beer in the ground.
But, a day out for us, hope that we play in red.

Where's the Magic round about if it's not the pork pie roundabout?
Why are visiting fans going anywhere near the pork pie?

All week I have been very undecisive whether to actually go to the game. After hearing there will be nearly 4,000 Swindon fans I have decided to go as it should be a cracking atmosphere.

Well done Swindon - great support.

The Swindon fans I have spoken to are just going with an open mind, our cup run will probably come to an end on Saturday but I also thought that against Wigan,Huddersfield and Colchester away. If we did manage to get a replay at the County ground would it appeal to the Leicester fans as Wigan only brought about 700 down in the last round. Our away following has been really good but would expect a few more for home games even though we are in the bottom tier.

If we went to a replay, I am certain Leicester would sell our full allocation in a day or two, which I believe would be around 2,500??

And if for any reason Swindon offered us more (although I doubt it) I would feel confident that these would also be sold.

We opened the Stratton bank ( away overflow ) in the last round for our own supporters as the demand for tickets was high from us but not Wigan. It would be interesting to see if we done that again if you did have to come to us. Normally we would offer up to 3,ooo if wanted by the visiting club but that would be reduced to 1,500 if we had the open end again. Its all about percentages of total numbers so I'm not sure. Oxford have just stitched us up as they are only giving us 1,200 after we gave them the full allocation of just under 3,000. But they do only have a three sided ground !
