"Tottenham are interested in Everton defender Sylvain Distin after Sebastien Bassong confirmed his desire to leave.
Distin is one of Everton's most consistent performers and is happy at Goodison but Harry Redknapp is a fan from his time at Portsmouth."

I know it's the Daily Fail but i've never been a fan of Bassong, and Distin's always looked solid from what i'e seen. My only concern is that he's 33, but he could step in immediately and fill the hole for a season at least.
Also, this whole CB debate seems to be missing the mysterious Khumalo (spelling?) surely he's worth a shot, after all - look how Sandro turned out!

Khumalo is injured but also needs to find his feet out on loan.
More worrying is why are we linked with Sylvain Distin 33, Drogba 33, Phil Neville 34, Brad Friedel 40, Parker 31, Beckham 36, Forlan 32, Wes Brown 31 and Joe Cole 30.
Is Harry just thinking of seen the season out with a lot of has-beens and more worried about the England job (that he might get) next summer.
I'm sure Daniel Levy is clued in and wont let this happen. Looking forward to the end of this window and it hasnt even opened yet.

It's been widely reported that Bassong wants out. There was also a story this morning that Harry was going to offer him to Stoke, as part of a deal for Shawcross. Who Knows?

Harry wants proven players with premier league experience in the dressing room, that's why he is targeting older players like Phil Neville, Drogba and Distin.

Well that's not looking to the future signing players with no sell on value, its not the way Levy set up his forward thinking plan, hope Levy stops this.
